Hey guys, I am planning to purchase a x220 this black friday (20% discount atm! ) and would like to also get a keyboard/mouse/monitor for home use. I was wondering about whether I can use HDTV as computer monitors? I've read that there are possible problems with text clarity, are there other potential set backs that should make me just get a computer monitor instead of HDTV?

Also, what are some recommendations for this upcoming blackfriday? I saw this deal on best buy:
    Dynex 24" Class LCD 1080p HDTV - $79.99
which seems like a pretty good deal if HDTV is good for monitoring. Thank you for all your inputs!

I've used all sorts of different TV's for monitors ranging many different brands and I haven't experienced any problems with them. However I do recall seeing a good amount of monitors on sale for the same if not cheaper price than that Dynex TV. If I were you I would just stick with a normal monitor to avoid any possible issues in the off chance they do arise.
