    Almost forgot... Dell Inspiron E1505
Alrighty... I've checked at the laptop pads that use fans and all kids of doodads. I saw the threads that rate them, but I have decided I don't want one of those. I just want something to allow air flow, without buring me and my potential children ;) . I definitely don't want anything bulky like that Belkin pillow thing.

I found a spongy looking thing called The Notebook Buddy that might work, but could probably still burn me. I searched Google and it doesn't seem like there aren't any reviews on it.

Another one I found is at LapWorks.net. There are different models but they are basically the same thing with slight differences. It looks like a possibility, but I'm not sure.

Anyone know of any other laptop pads or lap desks or have experience with the two I mentioned?

i would recommend somethin like this over those u posted: lapinator. this one has the raised back feature where it raises yur notebook in the rear. this feature really helps with air flow and cooling.

from the photo gallery on the notebook buddy page, it looks like the spongy surface is too soft. it looks to be blockin air flow from the bottom of yur notebook.

these would would well if the heat exaust was on the bottom, most laptops have their heat exaust on the side or back (or both) and their cooling fan on the bottom so using one of these would effectively block any air intake into the laptop which would then get very hot and eventually overheat.

The Belking lap cush thingy would have been good. Shame you didn't like its size. Have you seen it in person?

I have a Laptop Desk 2.0 from Lapworks. Unfortunately, my wife got near it one day and snapped one of the pieces of plastic that holds the hinge on the height adjuster; really a weak design flaw in my opinion. Despite this, it did help me realize the usefulness of a laptop pad.

I would recommend something that has a hard surface and helps facilitate airflow to the bottom of the laptop. Also, something that is thick enough on the bottom to keep you from feeling any heat, thin plastic just doesn't do the trick. Also, having something that raises the back of your laptop while sitting on a table or desk really is nice, because it does move the screen higher and closer to your eye level

You know what, screw it! I don't care if it wastes battery life, I just want it to be thin. I'll find something, somewhere.

Yea, i bought one too, thing is a piece of crap! Spent 50 bucks and it so flimsy and the mousepad has a weird design where it actually scratches your wrist, they are very dumb over at lapworks.

I have a ThermaPAK that allows me to use my laptop on my laptop for a couple of hours before it starts getting hot.

How about a piece of wood the right size? I use a bit of plywood that is a little larger than the laptop. It has a thin strip of wood nailed across the back to help hold the laptop in position. The laptop stays on it when I am at home and it moves from the table to the couch or the bed.
