Any good recommended products for cleaning the screen of the laptop? I know some say use alcohol based others say don't. My new laptop arrives this week and I'd like to get all the cleaning products in place so I have them if need be.

    Thanks in advance!

Using any kind of liquid isn't really a good idea. If it gets behind the LCD panel, there's a good chance it will be ruined. If you do use water, use very very little and the microfiber cloth. LCD cleaning kits work well. Google it.

Monster ScreenClean is a great lcd cleaner and comes with a good cloth. I believe it is alcohol and ammonia free also.

    Rubbing Alcohol works great.

I've been using Rubbing alcohol for the past five years on LCD monitors and never a problem.

I just use a lintless cloth and a little bit of water. You'd want to use a cleaner though if you have hard water.

Buy any liquid tft cleaner without Alcohol!
Let the display cool down. Then spray this liquid on a cloth or a Kleenex, then wipe the cloth across the display and immediately wipe it with a dry cloth or Kleenex dry. This way you always get a clean display.
I also use this method for the rest of my computer (palm rest, keyboard, ...), I clean everything with the alcohol free tft cleaner.

Don't use anything with alcohol and I also can't recommend cleaners with foam, they just don't work as good as liquid cleaners.

The cleaner I use is the well recommended Rogge TFT cleaner. But I don't think that you'll be able to buy it outside europe. I don't know.

But any other liquid tft cleaner without alcohol should work, too. I don't think that the difference between the products is noticeable.

And you can trust me, I clean my tablet PC display each day in a few seconds, and I've previously used a no name cleaner which worked as good as the rogge cleaner. And I've also tried a foam cleaner and it just was crap.

Water leaves streaks if the display is too dirty and won't clean the display as good as a tft cleaner.

I use a standard glass cleaner (with alcohol) or cleaner fluid for my glasses. hasn't damaged any of my 4 lcds at all.

I have a 24" monitor with a matte screen. Does it matter if it's matte or not when cleaning?
