Hello everyone. I recently purchased a 14" widescreen laptop - the Compaq Presario V2311US. This is the same basic size and casing as all of the other HP and Compaq 14" widescreen laptops. My question is if anyone knows of a particular laptop "sleeve" that will fit this size laptop. I would rather get a thin, neoprene-like sleeve for the laptop to protect it from scratches and bumbs when I put it in my backpack or duffel bag.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you using the 6 cell battery or the 12 cell?

I like the sleeves at booq.com they look really sturdy yet still small enought to fit in a regular backpack.

6 cell battery. I just can't seem to find any sleeves that are supposed to fit the 14.1" widescreens. So, I assume the 15" regular is probably the best way to go?

I have the ASUS W3V. I bought the Sumdex sleeve for 14.1" laptops. Fits like a glove. Very little room to wiggle. It costs like 25 bucks.

Great. That looks to be a 14.1" widescreen, so I assume it will fit mine as well. Did you buy it from Ebay or where in particular?

Hey do you think that thing will fit in a backback or is it more of a messangers bag?

It's a messenger bag that comes with a sleeve inside, so you could technically take the sleeve and put that inside a backpack too. Or so it says...

What about the Lance Armstrong Edition L2000? Didn't that already come with a carrying case, alongside earbuds and the Livestrong breacelet?

haha, nope, the case you see in the pic is for like CD's and stuff. It doesnt' have holders, but if you put cds and their cases it there it'll be fine. It holds the earbuds and the livestrong badn when you get it delivered. It's not meant to house the notebook. :)

I have the W3V and I am using the sleeve from SFbags.com I love it. I also have no problem using the sleeve with my briefcase. Fits just fine, even with a power pack and a power cord in there as well.

    thanks thats sounds great.

Have you found that swaping the battery in and out alot has done anything to the system like weakening the battery connector or caused the battery to lose charge?

    No problems about swapping battery.

But I use AC power whenever near a outlet.

The v2000 has an empty open space when you remove the battery as the battery itself forms part of the bottom of the laptop. But there should not be any problems with that.

Waterfield sleeves are arguebly the best on the market. Have two and the quality is amazing.

I got 2 cases from Compusa to experiment with; Targus and Case Logic. I liked both cases and they both retailed for about $34.99.

First the Targus case fits perfectly even with my 12 cell battery; this case was made for 14" notebooks. I really liked how it fits and it also has a front pocket to store your charger cords.
    http://photobucket.com/albums/v107/EEdude/Targus Case/

Next, the Case Logic case is really nice too. But its bigger because of the fact that its meant for 15" notebooks. Once the laptop is in the case, theres about 2.5" of left over space ontop of the notebook when vertically standing (you can look at the pictures provided). Also, theres like .5" of room left on the side of the notebook, allowing the notebook to slide around. You can argue that you can use the extra 2.5" of space for the charger but I plan on putting it in my backpack. So there's a possibility that the charger and the notebook can slide around, and things may get scratched or dented, so I'm not really too satisfied with the Case Logic case.

I'm still debating which case i should keep. I would love to hear your comments and what you think. Thanks.
