    Greetings,

    I just ordered an Inspiron 1520 - 15.4"...with dimensions (If my memory serves me correctly) WDH - 14.25 x 10.45 x 1.5-1.7.

I have not been able to find a nice sleeve (Used to protect the laptop while I carry it around in my school backpack). I'm hoping for a black or blue sleeve (I ordered the midnight blue colored laptop). Do sleeves usually come with any accessory storage (adapter + mouse)?

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

I ordered a Caselogic Shuttle Sleeve for my 1520 - they have a few different kinds - all should fit the laptop's dimmensions. Check out http://www.caselogic.com/search/index.cfm?Ne=100&N=4011+20025998

Newegg has them for about $15.00 in a bunch of different colors.

Now if only someone can recommend a good backpack or tell me if the i1520 fits the North Face Surge comfortably, that would be awesome!

I purchased the case logic shuttle sleeve for my T61 15.4" with 14" x 11" (with extended 9-cell battery) x 1 3/8" and the sleeve just fits perfectly. There's maybe 1/2" of extra space on the top near the zipper when i have the 9-cell installed. The width of the sleeve is just perfect, meaning there's slight resistance when placing the notebook into the sleeve.

I have the North Face Surge backup also. My notebook will just fit in the notebook compartment without the 9-cell battery (10" depth) and without the sleeve on. A 10.4" depth notebook would be pushing it. At one time i had purchased a DV6000T and it barely fit into the notebook compartment.

I cant use the notebook compartment because of the 9-cell battery, but I have no problem fitting the notebook with the sleeve into the main compartment of the backpack.

Thanks Hypertrophy - the i1520 with 9 cell has been measured to be 11.4" Wide (Depth) - I guess this is cutting it too close for the Surge backpack. I really want a sepearate laptop compartment so I don't want to spend $100's on a backpack and then not use the compartment. I wonder if any other The North Face designs would accomodate the laptop (With sleeve, even better). North Face has such nice backpacks - I really dont want to get a Targus or something cause they look so blah.

No problem. I feel the same way, and that's why i ended up purchasing the Surge backup [even before purchasing a notebook]. After receiving it though, i noticed the notebook compartment wasnt "all that." There's only one zipper, unlike the other two main compartments on the backpack that have dual zippers. Also, it does not have a flap to cover the notebook compartment zipper, and i dont know if the zipper is completely waterproof. The top of the notebook compartment, where the zipper is, is a lot narrower then the rest of the backpack, making it a tight fit for a 15.4" notebook.

I believe the surge has the largest divided notebook compartment out of The North Face lineup. The other models have a "notebook pocket" that's part of the main comparment.

Thanks a lot VCash; I am going to purchase the Blue Laptop Shuttle bag (Looks great!).

And if you do ever find a decent North Face Backpack, please let me know! I wish to purchase one for school.

    Thanks.

I just did the mambo combo from sfbags for my 2090, the sleeve in the bag is tailered to fit my notebook. I was really impressed with the designs plus they use neoprene on the sleeves not just foam pads covered with parachute nylon like some I have seen...idk guess it's more a style issue too

I bought an Init sleeve from Best Buy for $20. Decent protection and has handles. I just picked up an Oakley laptop sling and let me tell you... it is awesome! Well though out and stylish, too!

I just got my Zeroshock III 15.4" Widescreen sleeve. And it fits perfectly. Well, it looks like it's going to implode a little, which leaves no room in the pocket area. But I'm really satisfied. I'm going to test it by dropping it from 3 stories!

    edit: I'm using a 6cell batt.
