There may be no great solution for this when flying coach, but this looked pretty good to me.
Has anyone every tried this? Would it work with 15.6" laptop like the Clevo P650?
Or am I dreaming... =P

Unless you're flying first or business class, there's no room on an airplane tray to put a mouse, especially with a 15" notebook.

I've done okay gaming with my Ultra book on planes, but it's a fair amount smaller than my up coming Clevo which kind of worries me for in-flight gaming.
The second part of my plan is to use one of these. I used to game with the MS wired version of these all the time. You just put it in your lap or on your knee - no need for a mouse pad

Additionally, you're not going to be able to plug in your laptop power adapter. Even if you're in a seat with an AC power socket there, it usually maxes out at around 90W of output. If you plug in a 15.6" gaming laptop, it will just trip the internal circuit breaker on the AC power socket, and refuse to work.
Your best bet? Load up your phone / tablet with a bunch of games & movies, and get comfortablepitz, John Ratsey and saturnotaku like this. -

There's actually an old review on this site using the above stand with some success:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/keynamics-aviator-laptop-stand-review.60001/
To be fair, the reviewer is in business class, but his laptop is also much bigger and heavier than the P650.
This admittedly promotional video gave me some hope that it might work:
At least I will try it and report back with my success or failure
I just want to be the envy of the aircraft playing 2+ hours of Witcher 3 on my brand new Clevo while everyone else is stuck playing Candy Crush on their phones =Pjace888au likes this. -

I have one of these from their kick starter a while ago. It's a very sturdy stand and holds your system in place. Only thing is it was originally designed for thinner laptops. It still holds my Alienware 17R4 fine but I gotta remove the rubber bits on the "hand". This would be more ideal than the original stand since it makes your laptop stand more vertically than horizontal which is what coach people are lacking. Plus no need to strain neck. I've never tried it on a plane so I can't comment on how stable it is as it was designed for a table not a moving plane.FredSRichardson likes this. -
What happens when the seat in front reclines?

The stand handles this pretty well. The lid doesn't get jammed and you can slide the base forward if needed.

Modern day business class is far larger than the video. And if you want to game on the plane you should get a smaller laptop. I've brought my AW15R3 on the plane and never ended up using it because it was uncomfortable. Something like the P650HK1 would fit very nicely.

One thing I like about my new 2 in 1, flip it to tent mode and work away and be comfortable.
