I have not been able to find this question in the forums, at least not answered to my satisfaction. I travel a lot and would like to find a tuner for my laptop. I am looking for one that I can use that does not require an internet connection or requires being plugged into cable. Does such a product exist? Appreciate it.

    Absolutely: Hauppuge WinTV-HVR-950Q

You will however, need an antenna (one is included) and be in range of a tv transmission.

AFAIK, the above mention tuner is the only option you have.

however, you probably can only get access to OverTheAir(OTA) channels... use antennaweb.com to check your current location against where the nearest towers are...

and you'll probably only need ATSC for OTA in USA... QAM is for cable, and DVB-T is for europe
