    I just bought a Clevo M570RU (Sager 5790).

I won't receive it until about a month from now, but I want to make sure I have all my accessories for the notebook by then.

Here's what I've bought or am planning on buying so far:

    - Audio Technica ATH-700 PRO SV (Headphones, bought and received them already, they are amazing)

    - Razer DeathAdder gaming mouse

    - Ideazon FragMat mouse pad (hopefully I won't regret buying this over a more expensive mouse pad)

    - Zalman ZM-NC1000 notebook cooler (hopefully this will fit under my 17" notebook comfortably)

Now the one other thing I can think of needing is obviously a case. I still haven't decided whether or not I want a backpack or just a briefcase-style carrying case. I also think that this would be something I would need to see in person before I purchase it, though I'm not totally against the idea of buying it online. Everytime I try to look for some cases, they are always expensive and a boring black. I want something with a little more style for no more than around $100 (I've already spent $3000+ on laptop + accessories!). I'll continue looking for a suitable 17" case.

Anyway, are there any other laptop accessory essentials I may want to check out? I think I have everything I need, but I also thought that before I read about notebook coolers, so who knows.

Backpack FTW. Much easier to carry, and it can double as a standard backpack (when you don't have your laptop). Ogio makes some nice 17" laptop backpacks, as does Targus.

Basically I have the following "essentials" in my Wenger backpack:
    -Logitech V200 mouse
    -Sennheiser HD250 headphones
    -AC adapter
    -DVI-VGA adapter
    -Apple remote
-microfibre cloth (to protect keyboard and clean screen)

You should definitely get a nice mouse pad for when you're at home. I have a BFG gaming surface.

Consider some sort of lock for when you aren't home...a thief breaking in would LOVE to take your laptop. I lock up my MBP whenever I leave the house. Same goes for your backpack...get a small lock for it so someone can't slide the notebook out when you aren't looking.

This laptop won't be moving around much. Only to take it back and forth from University to home a few times a month. I wanted a nice carrying-case as opposed to a backpack so I could keep all my laptop accessories in there as well and designate it my "Laptop bag". As opposed to having it in my backpack which I'll be using for school alone.

I've got plenty of DVD-RWs, and the laptop has a card reader and I have a 1gb SD Pro Duo, so I'll pass on the usb flash drive, and since I won't be using it on the go too often, a spare battery isn't a priority of mine though it is something I can always pickup later if I feel I need it.

When I get the laptop and my case and move into my dorm, I'll have to find a way to ensure my laptop doesn't get stolen

You missed one: A comfortable chair.

With a sweet setup like that, you won't want to get up. :D
