I'm travelling my laptop and so I'm thinking of buying a laptop backpack. however, i heard a friend of mine telling me that his laptop backpack practically ruin his HD.

Please recommend to me a backpack that can my lappy secure when on travel. i don't mind the price. i have 15.4" lappy.

    thanks in advanced.

take a look at the Burton Premium Pack. they have it on www.ebags.com I like it because of its low profile look.

I have a Targus Gravity. It isn't pretty but it works well.

If you go around the city, it would be good to get a laptop backpack that doesn't designate it as one. It keeps the muggings to a minimum.

What brand of bag did your friend have? I would like to avoid that one.

Mobile edge makes some nice ones.

I can't imagine how a bag would ruin a HD unless the bag was not padded, the user was abusive or if the laptop was a Gateway.

Why? Do gateways have a problem w/ the HD's going out or something? Or are you just saying that they are ****py quality? Or do you just not like gateway?

They are very flimsy in feel (from the ones I have held in the stores). My wife's Gateway lid cracked near the hinge.

They are the least solid in feel when compared to Fujitsu, HP/Compaq, Dell, Apple, and Toshiba. Sony's feel pretty flimsy to me, too.
