Looking for a decent and comfortable laptop backpack for my laptop, I carry it to college everyday so it should balance the weight of the beast efficiently.

How's this? Is the price good?
I have a budget of around CA$50-ish, and I live in Burlington, ON in Canada so if anyone knows of a good local deal let me know.

Swissgear is a excellent brand to go with. They generally have awesome bags at awesome prices. If your willing to stretch your budget more i would suggest the Alienware Orion backpack or the Astro Scout both are amazing especially with weight distribution. I use my Alienware Orion backpack to carry the behemoth of a laptop the Asus G73 to school everyday back and forth.

But you can't go wrong with Swissgear. My dad uses their backpacks and swears by their build quality. I just wish i could find one that fits my Asus G73.

I can't say much because i have never tired that backpack but many users here love it. Apparently it carries a huge load and it lasts for years. I suggest researching for reviews of the backpacks and seeing if you can find them in store to try them out.

    I have this backpack:
Amazon.com: Targus Drifter II Backpack Designed for 17-Inch Laptop TSB239US (Black/Gray): Electronics

Very cool looking, comfortable, and sturdy all while being very protective of my 17 inch laptop. Unfortunately, this is a bit pricier than your Targus XL while the functionality remains the same. I actually didn't see the Targus XL the first time I was searching for a backpack, so I emailed Targus and asked them what the difference was. They pretty much told me that they are both the same, with the XL slightly bigger and having a couple more pockets.

Whichever one you choose, I can tell you that either backpack is most likely more than adequate to suit your purposes. A note of warning though: if you pack it to the brim, you may not be allowed to bring the backpack as a carry-on on an airplane, if that is a concern of yours.

Wow that's a nice looking backpack. When i was researching for bags for my laptop a while back i researched crazy for a month i think. I looked at several bags and i've come across Belkins bags like the link above. Unfortunately most of the times i find a good backpack and it won't fit. I would check the measurements and contact Dell if you find a bag you want but not sure about the size.

I thought the first laptop you showed us, the Targus XL, is a good choice. Plus you get all those goodies, especially the surge protector.

The Alienware Orion scanfast backpack is sweet. The best I've ever owned.

I paid like $78 for M18X version. The M17X version I posted above, ~$65. That was through Amazon on both.

What do you mean by "wears off quickly"? As in it is easy to fall off? Or quality of the material isn't good? Either way, I don't think it has that much of an issue, as I have a similar backpack to this by the same company and I didn't notice anything wrong. It is quite durable. I take it everywhere I go, literally. I suppose if you have a small frame then it can be a problem with falling off as the backpack is huge. But I'm 5'8'' with a medium frame and I can wear it fine.

Ok then will get this one as anyways I cant find a better one. Quality and it being huge was my only concern, but since you're 5'8" and you find it okay then I guess it could work for me too as I'm 5'10"

I'm about 5'7" and my backpack is fine. Not sure how huge the Swissgear one is but it's probably similar to the Orion.
Well i live in New Zealand and found out it was cheaper to order it from Dell NZ which was $120 shipped. Back then in January even on eBay the bag was around $100 plus the $60 shipping to New Zealand and the currency exchange it was not worth it.

But now you can find it on eBay for $65 and some other online sites too. I suggest looking if there is a warranty because my first Orion bag was horrible, the seams were coming undone the straps were ripping. But Dell exchanged it for a new one.

Well i'm kinda scared to get it from EBAY!, idk why, because of some scams and such.. and when you get the bad bag, they replace it with the new one?

Haha well if you get scammed you can always open a dispute with PayPal and that sorts things out.

Yeah when my bag was ripping they replaced it with a new one. Not sure if that applies if you order it from eBay and i wouldn't rely on it just in case the Dell in your area doesn't offer the same service.

Mobile Edge makes the best bags for Alienware. Nothing beats the convenience of going through the airport security checkpoint and not having to take out your oversized laptop for scanning. Not to mention the ample room for the power brick and there's even room for a cooler...

hahaha i love that feature but unfortunately it only works 2/10 times. When i go through Hong Kong or New Zealand airports they still tell me to get the laptop out regardless that it's Airport Friendly. I suppose it's because it says TSA not just simply "Airport Friendly" so i guess they assume it only works for U.S Airports. But guhhhh it's irritating having to get out the monster of a laptop Asus G73 and place it on those box things, my bag, wallet, iPhone, jacket, and second carry bag. Then retrieve all the items back.
