    Thanks for viewing :)

Basically I need a laptop bag to keep my laptop safe from falls, and can hold some textbooks and my adapter when I go to UGA next semester.

My laptop is a Dell XPS 16, and I can't decide between a messenger or a backpack.

Also if possible could you pick the bag on dell.com b/c I got a giftcard from there :)

    Greatly appreciate the help! <3

Usually backpacks for 16' and up tend to be quite big and seem more like a parachute than anything else, but is easier to handle and a lot more forgiving on the back. As for a messenger, again, can seem to be quite big, but looks better, I have both for my laptop and to be honest I prefer the backpack.

some links so you can check:

If you prefer, take a look around, has a lot more selections than other places:

As for dell, take a look around there, you can find a couple of 17in Belkin backpack only crafted for dell, I once thought to get one of those, but got a $27 caslogic backpack instead.

    Good luck!

Both place have amazing deals on bags.

I believe there is a 10% coupon floating around right now, also with free shipping to. I think I saw it at cheapstingybargains.com :D

Consider the SwissGear Synergy backpack. Kensington messenger bags are also an option.

depends on your pref. If your going to be carrying a heavy 16inch laptop + books you might want a back pack for more support... if you get a messenger bag remember you only going to have one strap that goes around your neck.... if your carrying books and a heavy laptop you might just want to get a backpack for the support

Personally i would stick with a backpack. Putting the weight of a 16-17 inch laptop and books on just a single strap just seems like a recipe for disaster to me. I use one of the original Alienware odyssey backpacks. Sadly they dont seem to offer it anymore.

I bought this yea it costs 188 bucks, but it is worth because it will last be a long while. Its great cause its huge, big enough for the laptop with sleeve, has room for power brick and books, and room for clothes plus all your gizmos. Plus more I'm sure, and it comes with a wheeled part which allows you the freedom of lugging your stuff without strain on certain days or if you want to use it as a messanger bag just take it off the wheels and carry, ez :)
