I am a new owner of a Compal HEL80...Im looking foe a laptop coolpad/fan that blows air in from the bottom(Intake fan is on the bottom)....and a coolpad that wont cause discomfort for putting it on the lap....also I am mainly looking for a fan that will minimize the usage of the fan inside the laptop...

All notebook coolers blow air up [pulling air from the bottom, and exhausting it up].

I like the Vantec LapCool4 [about $30 on Newegg], it pretty fits all notebooks and is portable [folds up and fits in any notebook bag].

There are a couple reviews in the cooling guide.

Not all coolers blow air up. There are a few like the Spire Pacific Breeze which blows cool air across the bottom of your laptop which I think it works better this way.

im considering the lapcool4 and lapcool2...dunno which to pick...one is about 10 bucks cheaper though...and I don't think I need the extra usb ports...

also ive looked at the cooling guide before...im trying to minimize fan usage in the laptop more than lowering CPU temp, and from the first few post, really only 2 reviews, and only one pad that suits my needs

Yeah, I have a Lapcool 3 and it shaves about 5* off

It seems they have changed their product line-up since I researched last September. There used to be several more designs with adjustable fans, but now it seems they've changed it to variations of the lapcool 5

I know its a little late since you've already bought a cooler, so... :D :p
