I've been wondering about this for a while now. Is it more effective for the laptop cooler fan to blow air onto the laptop or draw hot air away from it?
The fan at the bottom of most laptops blow air out, so wouldn't a cooler that blows air onto the laptop work against the laptop fans? I recently got a Cryo LX and it blows air onto the laptop, I want to try to mod it to have the fans spin in opposite direction. So on a 3 pin connector, do I just switch the places of the left and the right pin?

You'll be blowing hot air onto your lap, kind of defeating the purpose of the cooling pad, most laptops draw ther air up from the bottom to pass it out the back or the side after it crosses the cpu heatsink. it probably won't make much of a difference either way, If your laptop is overheating try cleaning you heatsink and save yourself the time.

For MOST laptops, it's better if the cooler blows air, because they suck cool air in from the bottom, but some DO blow it out there. If yours does, switch the flow.

From what I've read, the LX IS that easy to switch, if it isn't, you should also be able to unscrew it and flip the fans.

Also: A tip, real posters don't say "patented design" very often.
