I know this is a long shot, but I have a Dell M4400 and use a docking station about 60% of the time. Is there a cooler that i could use in conjunction with my docking station?

...not knowing how your setup looks... does the docking station cover the whole underside, or just the back?

If its all, you could possibly rig up fans at the side... but it wouldn't be too effective... if it only covers the back, just place it on a large enough cooler and you're good to go :)

Why do you need a laptop cooler though?

the docking station only connects to the back and under the battery, so no it does not go all the way under the laptop. do you know of any docking stations that would be large enough to accomdate my needs?

at idle with only firefox, outlook, and instant messenger running, my GPU temp is a steady 122 degrees F

Well, if it only covers the back with the battery then you can get any cooler that's bigger than the "base" of the laptop.
It possibly won't be quite as effective as standing directly on one, but it would still cool it.

On the other hand though, 122°F = 50°C (needed to convert that) - and that's pretty cool for the GPU you have in your signature - so I wouldn't worry about a cooler.

And - the back is raised, so airflow underneath the laptop is increased anyway.

I'd suggest you see how it works without one first :)

Pretty much what Detlev said. Although you could buy an oversized cooler to sit the whole rig on, the simple fact that you've raised it with a docking station ought to improve cooling to an acceptable degree in any case.
