I'm looking for a cheap laptop sleeve that can fit my T61 with a 7-cell battery that sticks out. Would most 14.1" laptop sleeves fit my laptop even with the battery sticking out or should I go for a 15.4" sleeve?
I also would prefer if the sleeve had a carry handles or d-rings.

Anyone know if the Ogio brain bucket mini fits my laptop?

Hey, same situation as you. I do think the T61 is larger than the average 14.1" widescreens (such as Dell and HP ones) because the speakers are on the side of the keyboard and add to the length (please correct me if I'm wrong though.) I would probably go to CompUSA or something and check out the sleeves to see whether the 14.1" sleeves fit or not.

I'm in the same situation, I have the 14.1" Widescreen T61 w/ the 7 cell battery and am now looking for a notebook/laptop sleeve to go over it. I do have a laptop backpack, but I find that it pretty much s*cks.

I'm looking into getting a notebook sleeve that fits it pretty snugly and doesn't have any extra crap hanging off of it as I'd be shoving it into a backpack. I've read up and here are the dimensions that I've found that we would need are:

    13.2" x 10.3" x 1.4"
    33.53 cm x 26.2 cm x 3.56 cm

I'm also trying to find one on a budget that's less than 25 bucks. It's definitely hard to find a decent one. Anyone with any suggestions?

I think the 14" Belkin neoprene sleeves fit laptops with oversized Batteries... I know they'd fit a Dell 1420 with 9-cell. Not too sure about the thinkpad though.

They also look like the bees knees.

I would love to find out the answer to this- anyone know a good sleeve that would fit a Thinkpad T61 14'' widescreen with a 7 cell battery?

I would look for a sleeve for a standard (not widescreen) 15.1" notebook. Those notebooks have about the same width as a 14.1" widescreen but a bigger front-to-back dimension.

They do fit the Dells with 9 cells. I'd second their choice. They are a pretty good quality build. I carry my lappy naked though. I hate having to unzip the sleeve to get to my laptop.

anyone know anything about the Targus Slipskin ( http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=TBS005US)- fits up to a 15.4'' laptop- would this give a nice snug fit for the 14''WS + 7 cell T61 Thinkpad? I'd like it not to be too roomy- in case I ever want to alternate with a 4 cell battery...

I have the brain bucket, and my old 15" fit, so if its only a couple inches difference, you might be able to get it to fit. My word of warning though, the 15" was tight. My 14" wide screen fits in it with plenty of room, though. It has a strap in it to prevent it from sliding around, it I want.

How do you place your laptop with 9-cell battery into a horizontal bag? Battery side down or up?

I tried to bypass this issue with a vertical messenger bag (the Hacker from Timbuk2) but I had to return it because it just wasn't comfortable to carry. Now I'm looking for a horizontal bag again, but I just don't know about the laptop placement.

    Any thoughts?
