I wanted to share this idea for a laptop desk/stand that I've been using over the last few weeks for anyone that may be searching for a similar laptop desk/stand. I'd been searching for something like this and got the idea from another popular net idea that uses an Ikea Benjamin stool. I actually tried the Ikea Benjamin stool idea but found it too narrow for my liking. Google "Ikea Benjamin stool laptop" for more info on that idea. After searching some more, I found this breakfast tray and after chopping some height off of the legs, I've found my sofa desk. The wider tray is just right for me. I may further lower the height later on as I use it more and more.

If anyone is interested, here is the link for the tray and some pictures:

Great idea, I hate having a book on my lap to hold my notebook.

The price listed in the link is the price I paid plus whatever standard delivery was. Per the CB2 website, it would currently cost $7.95 for standard delivery. In checking my email history, I can see I received an order confirmation email on Sunday, 9/28 and it was delivered at the end of the week Friday, 10/3. It's possible the Thanksgiving/Xmas holiday schedule may differ from that.

Also, it's possible one might be able to pick one up at one of their brick and mortar stores which appear to be in NY, SF and Chicago (per their website).
