i downloaded a benchmark program really just for fun and i saw that it had a thermometer in it too. www.hdtune.com and i was wondering if anyone is familiar with this program enough to tell me wether it takes the temp of just the HDD or the cpu. im pretty sure its the HDD but im not sure how that would work. also, it says i run at about 108 degrees farenheit...is that normal? if you guys could dl it and tell me your results that would be great. thanks much

well neither actually, it's the motherboard that would be reporting the temp. 108 F isn't too bad, although a little on the warm side.

This had already been discussed in detail. Please make sure to do a forum search before asking for something like this.

As for temperature, I do think it's the HDD temp...either Andrew or I are nuts.

im sorry brian, but of the thousands of posts there are on this site, i found three posts that have the temperature of the notebook included. i wasnt asking for all of the results of the benchmark, just the temp...hence the title of the post being "laptop temps" three temps of various laptops doesnt seem to me to be "discussed in detail" if i am wrong, by all means, accept my apology, however if im not, please dont criticize me. as for what part of the notebook the temperature meter reads...it remains a mystery for now...[
