To all ye laptop owners who don't have S-Video,

Are there any external S-Video adapters /devices by which you can connect your laptop to a regular TV? How is the picture and sound quality?

I'm interested in buying a Sony laptop which unfortunately does not have S-Video, and hence this question.

    Thanks!

There are PCMCIA cards for this.

    Moving post to accessories.

I believe there is a vga-to-s-video converter out there that you might be able to use. Pretty much the way it works is that you connect the converter to your vga port (most notebooks should hav this), and then you can connect the regular Yellow cable to the TV . It might not work well though, so don't quote on me on that.

Thanks for your response. I'm now not sure if the S-Video feature is all that important while deciding which laptop to buy. Though any help from you guys regarding this would still be most helpful!

Anyways, I did find this PC-to-TV adapter which should do the job:
