    Hi guys,

I will be ordering soon my X200 Tablet. So I think its good idea to start looking for a carrying case.

I very like look of Lenovo Business Carrying Cases.

    My favourite is:

    ThinkPad Executive Leather Case
I had very hard time looking for some high res photos but I found them:

The thing is that Im affraid that my X200 Tablet is too small and will be moving dangerously inside.

    Specs are:
    Code:
Product Name	ThinkPad Executive Leather Case
          Product Type	Notebook Case
          Dimensions	13.25" Height x 16.5" Width x 7.13" Depth
          Color	Black
Compatibility	Lenovo - ThinkPad 15.4" Display Screen
          Additional Information
              o Luggage handle attachment
              o Comfortable gel shoulder strap
              o Easy access pocket

What do you think guys ?

Well if its bad I could get ThinkPad Ultraportable Case but its sadly made of nylon, not leather.

    Thanks !

    Nice and expensive (?) :D

I personally go for a sleeve and any good non-brand leather carrying bags.

    cheers ...

Its not so expensive for a person from European Union where prices are crazy and assortment is pathetic :p

Well, I wanted to buy sleeve but I need some extra space for pen, pencils you know, office accessories ;)

I hope that Laptop is little safer in a carrying case than sleeve.

    Thanks

    Edit:

Well I just saw this thread http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=23754 and the blue thing (padding ?) thats inside looks very very comfy for my new pc :) but in my opinion this bag looks square like :p Im sorry jonlumpkin I didnt want to hurt your feelings

Hope to hear some more responses :D

If you can locate a ThinkPad Leather Ultraportable case (I think it might be discontinued), it is by far the best option as it fits the x200 Tablet like a glove. It should also be far lighter than the "Executive Leather Case" and thus a superior option unless you need to carry a ton of accessories. If you need other pictures and/or measurements, don't hesitate to ask.

The blue neoprene provides very solid padding (I toss my x200 Tablet around in a cavalier manner and am never worried about it). The case is fairly square (slightly wider than tall, but not too different), but I hardly see this as a downside. The case is also of a very high quality and soft leather.

    Dimensions: 12.2" x 13.2" x 3.7". This is about 1/2 the volume of the "Executive Case" and a superior match for a 12-13" notebook (x200[s/t], x301, T40-T43).

These pictures show a MAXIMUM LOAD for the ThinkPad Leather Ultraportable Case. This includes:

    • ThinkPad x200 Tablet
    • Java book ≈400 pages
    • 65w AC Adapter
    • Five Star Flex (cut down to 8.5x11)
    • Retractable Ethernet/Phone cord
    • Ball Point Pen (twist top)
    • Staedtler Lead holder
    • Note flags (6 colors)
    • Spare TrackPoint Tips/Wacom Nibs
    • Notepad (5x7")
    • Stamps
    • Business Cards
    • 2GB µSD card w/ USB adapter
    • Wall Street Journal
On most days I would only carry a fraction of this (would likely ditch the Java book, Ethernet/phone cord, newspaper, and possibly AC adapter).

    Pictures:

Full complement laid out on table -
    [IMG]

Loaded (middle compartment [x200, AC adapter, Java book, Five Star flex) -

Loaded (front compartment [everything else, except WSJ]) -
    [IMG]

    Loaded (back w/ WSJ) -
    [IMG]

Interior ( laptop only, in neoprene sleeve)

Discreet ThinkPad branding and leather stitching -

That should provide a good overview of the case, its quality, and the surpising amount of stuff it can hold despite its small size.

Saddly I have to take quite a bit. Propably as much as you or even more.

Executive Leather Case has more Depth so its better for me. I also see that on the side there is more space and its easier accessible to get power adapter, optical drive and other handy things.

I see that if you want to take out your Java book you have to take your power adaper and something else first, right ?

I hope that Executive Leather Case has that great neoprene sleeve, padding as yours. I would be really dissapointed if it didnt have.

Im also dissapointed that Lenovo doesnt give more specs or photos. I mean photos that show really important thing. The third photo is useless for people like me lol !

    Thanks !

If you really need to take that much then you may need a larger case. However, one of the beauties of a Tablet PC is that it relieves you of the need to carry paper notebooks and in some cases textbooks as well. I think you might be able to get by carrying less than you think.

I can't comment on the padding in the executive case, but I think it would be similar. As far as photos, the blame should lay on the bag manufacturer (Targus in my cae) as Lenovo simply licenses the ThinkPad branding out to a third party.
