Ahh, been a long time since I was last here. So much to update. I'll be working on updating the list over the next few weeks. If you have new bags you can also PM me. Thanks for all.
Evan at Chrome sent me a pic. I posted it in the thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=1404764#post1404764. He informed me more pics of their bags will be available in a few weeks, so I requested those also
Ok so got really busy 2 years ago and never posted comments on my Tom Bihn bag. Well the short is holds up well, the new messenger strap is preferred if you are carrying that way.
I'm still light in Dealer and Review sections. If you have additional links pass them on and I'll update the list. I expect over the next several days to continue making updates.
So without further ado here ya go

This is a very good review of the Very Busy Man/Horseman bag by Crumpler.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=21467
This is also the UK version of the Crumpler site
http://crumpler.co.uk/2.0/site.html
I have the Cheesy Disco 15 inch widescreen bag by Crumpler and i use that for my 15.4 inch Mac Book Pro and it fits perfectly. I don't think that this bag is available in the US though. The Cheesy disco bag is like the Sticky date bag by Crumpler only that it is a slightly smaller version of it. The Cheesy Disco comes with a separate sleeve inside and it is a good bag for a 15.4 laptop. I was concerned how it might fit before i bought it seeing as it was advertised as a 15 inch bag but it fit fine with some room to spare.
It was a toss up between the Crippy Duck/Luncheon Crumpler bag and the Cheesy Disco for me but i opted for the Cheesy Disco.
I also tried the Double Charge bag by Crumpler out but i felt that bag was a bit to big for me height wise so i exchanged for something a little wider with not so much height. -
rachuk,
Nice, that is a good review with some good pictures. On the Cheesy Disco bag do you have room in the depth department. My laptop, ACER 8204 is a little deeper than the MBP. -
I didn't see Trager listed - http://www.tragerusa.com
Backpacks, Couriers, and Sleeves.
Love thier Couriers, btw! -
Nice, now to go and check the US site.
-
Great post! This should become a sticky!
-
Sent email to crumpler. They said here is the US "Part and Parcel" bag similar to Cheesy Disco.
Yeah would be nice to get stickied. Right getting ready to do some more updates (list clean-up, additions, etc...) -
I suggest adding pinderbags.com as another manufacturer. I really really like mine.
-
thanks, just added

scottschaffter Notebook Consultant NBR Reviewer
Thanks for putting this great compilation together! It helped me finally find a good laptop bags. Here is a review I did that you might want to add to the list:
http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3015
You might want to also add some hiking backpack dealers as some of their packs are great for laptops too, which I eventually found out. -
scottschaffter,
your welcome. Glad it helped. Yeah I was in REI (Outdoor retailer) and there are some backpacks that with a sleeve would make excellent bags.
Thanks for the link. -
did you forget the unforgettable "laptop armour"?

not really a bag persay.... -
Anyone ever seen or used a Case Logic Neoprene Notebook Computer Sleeve (SKU-NCLE-2)? Link is below...
Or have any of you used a different brand of sleeve? Is a sleeve a bad choice? Should I look for a computer bag. I assume the padding is built-in?
This is a sleeve, which you would use to protect your notebook. The sleeve would go into your suitcase for transport.

Does anybody know if there is a way to get a Pakuma backpack in the USA?

My review of the Ogio Metroid backpack has just been posted here for those who are interested

I've put together a thread for m1210 and other 12" notebook sleeves. Provides reviews and links to manufacturers.

I use a Sumdex sleeve which is similar in design to the zero-shock case. Inexpensive, works good so far. Simple, flexible, light weight, and attractive.
Steven -
I just got one. Took some pics of it and wrote up some stuff somewhere, it's nice.
-
Howdy!
I found super cool laptop sleeves at www.flickabags.com.
You can customize your sleeve by choosing your own fabric and size - and they only cost $35!
I ordered one and the quality is very high - its well-padded and has a waterproof lining. I love it! -
Hey, does anyone know how an Ogio Metroid will fit an E1505? I read one person say that it's a little tight. I really hope not, though. It's the best looking backpack with so many great features.

my chrome metropolis messenger bag review is up -
Here's a copy of my review on eBags about the Mobile Edge Express
"I bought this bag because I think it's one of the best looking laptop backpacks I've ever seen. After getting it in the mail, trying it on, and filling it with my laptop, a few books, a power brick, a Logitech V200 mouse, and a Logitech USB 350 headset, I was more than satisfied. The notebook compartment fits my widescreen 15.4" Dell E1505 perfectly. Although it can house a notebook 17" notebook, after seeing how much the elastic had to stretch to tighten my E1505 in, I doubt the elastic will stretch far enough to cover a full 17" notebook. The two pockets shown against the notebook compartment are actually very small. It just fits my Logitech V200, a semi-portable cordless mouse. The whole compartment is large, big enough to fit 3 good sized textbooks. The media compartment houses a Logitech USB 350 headset perfectly, and it's a fairly large headset. There are two side compartments; one on each side plus a water bottle holder on the right side. The water bottle holder will definitely only hold a small sized water bottle for sure (a small Kirkland one from Costco would fit fine). The side compartments are pretty big. One held my Dell powerbrick wonderfully, not too tight at all. But, I've decided not to keep it. The reason is there is only one large compartment, and it just won't suit a sloppy person as myself who needs multiple compartments to keep organized. Not only that, filling the interior compartments with stuff makes the pockets protrude, taking away from the overall space provided for books, files, folders, etc., So, if you have a laptop and a few books or another change of clothes or anything of that sort, this backpack will definitely suit you. If you have lots of papers and gadgets to store, you'd be better off with something else. PS: as many reviewers have said, the media compartment does have a tendency to stick."
BY THE WAY! I ended up buying the Ogio Metroid and it does indeed fit the E1505 nicely! Tight, like a glove, but not hard to take out or put in. I LOVE IT! -
REI makes some great bags (amoung other suff) www.rei.com. But they also makes a laptop sleeve (that I'm about to buy once my laptop arrives). Here's a great review of the specific sleeve here. -
thanks for the links everyone. been away for awhile , but will get these up soon.

Hey!
very glad i found this thread as i am also looking for a great laptop bag.
Being a female I have been dissapointed by some of the line outhere *cough Targus cough* who seem to think the only thing we like is to be drowned in pinkess...
Anyways with a bit of surfing found this awesome website not only directed at women but men too. That's where i find awesome compagnies like Timbuk2 (now thats awesome lookin' stuff), Zaum - great looking back stream line looks but stil sets out apart from the crowd.
here is link:
http://www.squidoo.com/laptopbag/
Also sleeve wise very informative website + has other links on it.
as well this link: http://www.fabrixcases.com/main.html they make very cool cases nicely paded.
Also be.ez makes gorgeous sleeves and bags very aesthetic something you would definitevly expect from a compagny with mac oriented sleeves.
P.S. Whoever owns Apple products can be very happy many bags and sleeves made in apple sizes but they are customizable - is that even a word- to your computer even chose fabrics. -
another good bag company you might like is manhattan portage. www.ebags.com is a great place to go, but this has been said so many times in this thread and everywhere already.
-
What about http://www.becase.com ? They have nice soft sleeves from italian leather. And the case for charge adapter http://www.becase.com/?product&alias=ac_cable_wallet looks pretty compact.
-
Get the ILBE pack from ARC'TERYX. You can carry alot ogf gear with the backpack
-
you want to add Slappa to ur list as they make some pretty good bags
-
thanks all for the additional posts
Kevin -
Thank you for your nice info..

For those with a full wallet, Knomo bags has a beautiful selection of leather laptop bags.
I was lucky enough to acquire the cholet for my birthday.

One of the most thorough lists of laptop bag selections that I've seen. Here's one to add from another thread: http://www.kolobags.com. Lost of choices, can search by style, color, brand, etc.
-
chicgeek,
Wonderful bag. gotta tell a coworker she needs this! I love my Tom Bihn Super Ego but this would be a real nice edition.
techsweetie,
Nice find. Interesting designs. So nice to see something with style. -
Hello long time lurker, first time poster. I recently bought a laptop bag from a new website called www.ltgear.com. They are really quick to get my bag to me. They sell Sleeves and Ipod cases as well. I hope this helps anyone.

Awesome laptops Notebook Evangelist
awesome guide thanks for the help
-
wow great list!
Cheeerist some of those are expensive!
The Chrome and Reload ones are pretty nifty. But I'll probably go for one of the more stylish ogios and spend the difference on a faster hard drive!
Actually I am really trying to find something akin to a neat bag I saw in S.F. It had a padded laptop section, the front was asymetrical with pretty good access to gizmos and pockets. looked excellent for traveling or just laptop officing at a cafe. And it was super stylish. Way more so than most of the cheapies you see at newegg or what have you. -
calveras,
ogios are nice, though somewhat run of the mill like the Wenger bags you see everywhere. I recommend go different direction and don't be afraid to spend if you want unique styling. Chrome, Crumpler, Reload, and one I don't have on the list http://bagaboo.hu (made in Hungary) this last one is highly customizable and you can send your own drawings to be used, way cool.
I personally own a Tom Bihn Super Ego and find the quality excellent with an unique aesthetic. Sorry can't remember who had the asymmetrical bags.
