I'm looking for an AIO to take to school to do color printing and for scanning/copying. I get free black and white printing right in my dorm (yay), but there isn't a copier in the building (I don't think) and I might need to do some color, so I need a printer. I would like to spend no more than $100, but I would go up to $150 if I really had to to get quality. I'm going to be dual booting windows and linux, and would really like the printer and scanner to work on both. I also would prefer fairly ubiquitous ink, as my school is in a tiny town. There are many options, but I'm hitting a snag in that I would love to have autduplexing. (I once refed all the pages to doubleside a 90 page document). I really like the HP Officejet J6480, but would rather not spend the $150 for it and do not need the wireless networking, when I'll be printing in my shoebox room and have a cable long enough to pretty much have my laptop at one end of the room with the printer on the other. I looked at the Officejet 6300, but it loses autoduplexing. I would love any suggestions. Thanks!

I have a Lexmark x4550 (Print/Copy/Scan). It's not too big and has wifi capabilities. I like it, except it doesn't have Linux compatibility. I was just searching Google to find out if there have been any breakthroughs with this and there are not, but I did find something very useful.

Just select the brand and model your thinking about and it will tell you if Linux is good to go for that printer.

It doesnt seem to have the Officejet J6480 listed though.
