So bottom line is I need a wireless mouse for my laptop. Now I know first thing yall are thinking is "ZOMG G700 is what you need!" and I totally understand that for most purposes the G700 is totally superior. Now keep in mind that I really will, for the most part, not be using the assignable buttons (not currently playing RPGs) most assignable ones would go to Internet shortcuts or maybe a few to CSS. Now I need something that's portable and I know the G700 is much greater size than the Anywhere Mouse. I need a mouse that will be portable but very durable. I use the deathadder and the eXactMat for my desktop so the G700 would not probably be used as my desktop mouse and just primarily used for my laptop. Also the price sucks. $100 for a mouse is kind of pushing it for me.
I guess the general question is: Is the G700 really necessary for my Laptop purposes? Sure I will be gaming on the laptop but is it worth the extra size and cost vs. just getting the Anywhere Mouse and saving a good lump of cash?
Thanks everyone!

First, you should really know that it's largely based on personal preference. Personally, I hate large mice and am most efficient/accurate with small laptop-sized mice, so the Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX is perfect for me. It's accurate, works on a remarkable variety of surfaces, has a long battery life, and seems to be very well made (I haven't had any durability issues so far). I also do not notice any tracking delay when playing FPSs, but I admit I'm not really a hardcore gamer.
So no, I would not say the G700 is necessary for laptop purposes. I would argue it's not worth the extra size and cost (the Anywhere Mouse has great dimensions for fitting in laptop bags). -
The primary reason to get the Logitech G700 is because it is a beast when it comes to gaming for its high DPI, high USB polling rates, and programmable buttons / macros / profiles. It does not sound like you would use any of these features.
The Logitech Anywhere MX seems to be your thing. Affordable, portable, lightweight. It's got a really nice scroll wheel on it, and the Darkfield sensor is really fantastic if you need the ability to mouse on glass or polished granite surfaces.
I used to own the Logitech Anywhere MX. I returned it and ended up getting a Logitech Performance MX instead because it was larger and was a more comfortable fit for me. This was purely a personal choice, and had nothing to do with the Anywhere MX mouse itself. If you are comfortable with the smaller size of that mouse, then by all means go for it. I think you will be very satisfied with it. -
I ended up ordering the Anywhere MX due to looking for something maybe a little smaller. I think the price was right for me to. Like stated above I could do the same as you and if it just doesnt feel right size wise I may be able to send it back and purchase the Performance. Appreciate it everyone!
Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX or the G700? ugh
