I am looking into getting bluetooth headphones for my hp laptop with bluetooth technology. I am looking for behind the head bluetooth headphones, where i do not need any receiver plugged into my computer. I was looking at one of logitech's headphones, but lots of people said that the neck strap breaks very easily. So I am looking into buying these:

I just wanted to make sure that i can connect these headphones to my laptop without any receiver, because i want to take advantage of my built in bluetooth in my hp laptop. There is a picture of a receiver, but the headphones are bluetooth headphones, so i will not need the receiver, right!!??
thanks. -MATT

Matt:
YES they are bluetooth, and will work with your internal BT radio on your notebook. I am myself looking into that very same pair of headphones...pretty neat, isn't it? I think if you use Google Checkout for the first time, you might get $20 off.
I did hear about the previous version of Logitech's BT headsets. They did seem to break, and people would do weird things like duck-tape them back together.
If anything, I think the only annoyance will be charging the built-in battery on the Logitech headset. -
oh cool! thanks a lot!
yes i agree that charging it will be the only annoyance, althought its not a big deal to me, i dont mind putting batteries in my BT mouse...
and i also heard bad things about how it is uncomfortable... i do not think that will be an issue for me either...
so thanks, i might buy them when i get the money... lol
have u found any other BT headphones that are worth a look? -
No I haven't really found any other BT headphones that seem to advertise good quality sound. It's just this Logitech set that's really the one.
Remember that pairing your headphones with the BT radio might take some time...and it may go to "sleep" after some time. It's not a perfect wireless delivery of sound yet...I think we are still two years away from 'true' wireless music catching on big time.
If you own a PSP, this is an interesting option - includes the PSP dongle in case you don't want that Logitech fat dongle.

oh wow! thats awesome! where can i buy those?
and yes i have a psp, and i love it. how did u know? -
We're gamers
so I knew.
I think that PSP one (which would work with you notebook as well) is coming out end of this month. According to the head mod at PSP-Vault, zmcnulty, it's a foreign import only...and around $100. -
oh sweet check this out

no matter what wireless headphones you decide on, you may want to make sure the batteries are user replaceable. I have run across a couple pair in looking into the same thing that were user replaceable batteries.
If the battery is proprietary and not for sale anywhere else it might mean the headphones/headset are essentially disposable as it would likely cost more to replace the battery then to buy something new in a couple years.
About the dongles. More then a handful of reviews for setups that also have a dongle find that the sound tends to be better with the dongle then w/o. It wouls seem to imply that many of the bluetooth cards used on systems today and not all that wonderful.
I also have considered the stuff from Blueant. -
I have the FreePulse headphones and they work great. The first couple of days you wear them they get slightly uncomfortable after a while, but that soon stops. I have only used them with the transmitter that comes with the phones, and that works quite well. Had them a week now and loving them. Battery life of 8 hours or so keeps them working well, and charging is relatively quick. I reccommend these highly.

I wanted to buy a pair of the Freepulses myself but at the time I was shopping around for em, Newegg did not have them (I buy nearly everthing I have from them). While walking around in the local mall, I came across Creatives SL3100 BT headphones, so I decided to give em a try. They paired up easily with my G1 and sound great. Just make sure in the BT profile you choose high quality sound or something like that. I intend to use these for now until something unfortunate happens to em. I must say though, I am tempted to buy a set of the Freepulses since Newegg has em now.....
Side note: nearly all the "one size fits all" behind the head headphones are going to be uncomfortable at first until you get used to em.
Nearly anything Bluetooth will work with a laptop. The only time you will have any real problems with BT is if your device does not support the profile for it. Stereo headphones use A2DP profile. ie; not all phones/smart phones with BT have A2DP profiles and therefor will not pair with them, or if paired will have terrible sound quality. -
well the cheapest price i have found for the freepulse headphones is $79 including S&H, cheaper then newegg. Go here to check it out.
As for those creative headphones... i checked them out and they seem to be more expensive, and have gotten worse ratings. Also, i love logitech's products. So for now i think ill go for the freepulse BT headphones.
Thanks for the advice. -
Hi did you get them? How is the performance?
Can anyone recommend something with a microphone for voice chat?
Thanks. -
My co-worker, upon seeing me with my Creative BT headphones, became filled with jealous envy and set out to "one up" me. For one week he searched and scoured the internet for the perfect stereo bluetooth headset. When the dust settled, there before him wrapped in vacuum formed plastic was the Motorola HT820. I had heard rumors of these, to see them in person......
Ok, back to reality. the motorola HT820 are a really good set with a microphone. They have amazing battery life, up to 14+ hours straight music listening time, more comfortable than my creative SL3100 (alot more comfortable) and lighter. My co-worker is swearing by them claiming they are better than his wired set. He uses them for VOIP calls on his laptop and listens to music with them on his PDA. -
Has anyone heard about the Jabra BT620? They're also BT wireless headset. How do they compare with the Freepulse?
