I don't have a mouse right now, but I ordered a G5 from newegg. I will let you know what I use once I get the mouse.

Right now I am playing CS:S with a touchpad.

You can't even imagine how hard it is, I am doing like five things or more with my left hand, and my right is trying to aim slightly accurately.

I am lucky if I get a kill within the first few rounds of the game.

Might aswell close your eyes and hold the shoot button with a touchpad.

Nearly all the settings your asking for is pretty much your own Personal preference. You shouldnt copy other peoples settings. Use the ones you are most comfortable with.

I believe report rate is how fast it responds. Im guessing the higher you set this the faster it will "report" movements to the computer

Don't know if this will help, but I have a G9 that I love, and I play CS Source.

I use two 4 gram weights in the back, and my DPI is 1600.

I got my G5 today, I use all 4.7gram weights, and all I customized were mapping the two side buttons to weapon switching.

Most of the time, I use 2000 Dpi.

I like it because I can move the cursor around the screen easily, its accurate too.

I shift around every once and a while, but I always go back to 2000.

2000, sometimes I use 800 as I said before. In UT3 I find 800 to be tolerable, but not in CSS.

i think i do 750 dpi normally in game. i go down one to 650 if i'm deagging.

my ingame sensitivity is ~ 1.5 .. sometimes 1.3 sometimes 1.7... depending on where i play or how lazy i am

(i'm on laptop and usually playing in awkward positions.)

I used to play 1.1 sensitivty with wired-ball mouses... i miss those mouse.. they were the best

since u r from India i kno how much craze 1.6 is there..

all my friends play that...even though i tell them to try CS:S ...they say CS:S isn't fun due to bad model skins although deep inside they know their old machines wont handle CS:S .

I can tell few things since i ve been into professional Gaming scene:
    1. Worlds Top Counterstrike players play at LOW sensitivity. between 1-3.

But you should play at a setting which is JUST BELOW what u are comfortable at. NOT perfect. this way your crosshair will always land at the enemy & not overshoot it.. so slowly slowly.. as u become comfortable ...keep going lower

but dont go too low just coz all Pr0's play at low. they move their hands at ultra high speeds .. 2.5 M/S which U & me cant handle.

    2. They also play at LOW resolution. i.e not above 800X600 .. Why? Coz the HEAD of enemy appears large on a low resolution on a normal Monitor..especially CRT.
CS 1.6 is a score based game.. its not Crysis .. so they can do with 800X 600.

    3. They keep 450 - 900 DPI during Magging (AWP) & increase it to Full while playing with AK47 or SMG in de_dust2. or smaller maps like FY's .. i.e. Fy_iceworld etc etc.

Another thing... if u are on this social site called ORKUT by Google.. you might wanna join THIS community .. I here all CS fans & pr0s come & discuss the game..

    Hope that helped you.

I use whatever the middle setting on the G5 is (800dpi?) with 9.2 on the ingame setting. Also I have two 4.5g weights in the back and four 1.7g weights in the middle.
