I need to know what one is better for the games I am playing. I need to know very quickly. The games I will be playing are. Battlefield: 2142, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and World of Warcraft.

Get a G9. It rules all other mice. You might wear out the shell eventually, but Logitech replaces them without probs.

    I never used a G5 but I do have a G7 as well as a G9.

For a wireless gaming mouse the G7 is awesome. The battery charges are pretty good (a week with heavy playing) and swaps are a breeze. No interferences either with wireless routers and other stuff.

if u are playing multiplayer or competitive games then go for G5 ..

    otherwise G7..

but both suck anyway for Ultimate Gaming..

    MX518 outperforms G5..

but since G5 has better looks & they compensate poor performance by introducing Weight cartridge hence people get Charmed by it.

Between G5 & G7 .. G5 is better for First person shooter games.

but if u plan to play online and wanna OWN your enemies then get MX518.

lol... yes, i lost the Razer contest on Facebook where they promised that they are giving away Razer Gaming speakers + Razer Mats.

Well, heres what i ask u.

If u drive Merc & u drive BMW.

U feel that BMW is better.

so what will u say to anyone who asks u which car to buy.

obviously u wont lie and tell him Merc.

    Hence,

I have tried Logitech mice before making the claim that Razer's gaming technology is better than Logitech.

Logitech sensors Skip at low sensitivity and high speeds.

for me .. i always sprained my arm trying to skip my Deathadder..

I am not a celeb endorsing a product nor am i a Fanboy because just above i recommend him MX518 for best performance.

hence, i am a rational man who gives Reason behind his Bias.

other than that, Razer marketing is one of the best i have seen, they create a cult around them, a community of loyal fans, then they sponsor Gamers to create a Market awareness.

i mean their marketing is just too good for logitech to compete with.

its so powerful that at some point its Evil to be so competitive.

I'm not a fan of Razer products. I think they're low quality.

I'd go with a G5 if you truly do not need wireless.

G9 is best of course :)

G5 since wireless isnt as good with speed. I use G5>mx518 since the 518 for me is WAYY to light... big hands..plus lacrosse... equal need for heavy mouse.

Why are people saying MX518 is better than G5?
It uses optical, and it has lower DPI/acceleration, and not to mention 125hz V.S the 2000dpi/20g/1000hz of the G5.

    I think it should be:

    G5

    Nuff said.

I disagree with the section about laser mouse. My G5 doesn't have a lift-off distance of 10cm(Not even 1cm at the most), and it never skips.

its 10 mm not Cm.. must be a spelling mistake.

although with new drivers they have reduced it but still its Greater than optical sensor

because Laser mice are made for ALL surface and not One Surface.
their sensor is optimized for Linear tracking & not accurate tracking

    and Laser mice skip.

even a 14 yr old kid can tell u who plays CS

Do you want wired or wireless thats the real question.

If you want wireless (what I have to use with my laptop as i refuse to deal with cord mess in my backpack) then the G7 is just as good as the G5.

If your ok with cords, then you want the MX518 the better/cheaper version of the G5.

its all about the vx nano. the receiver... it is so... small! not for league gaming, but neither is an apple laptop with an 8600m gt.

Yeah the receiver is great for the nano, but I much prefer the g7 for the mouse itself.

I hear they will do a refresh of the G7 to use the nano receiver so thats what my next buy will be when the time rolls around for a new mouse, which is almost never my logitech mice last forever. That MX518 is 3 years old and I dont lie its used daily and still in brand new condition.

Skipping means it misses out some Dots on the screen and moves way past them.

Now thats what u never want in a mouse especially while playing CS.

So G5 is not popular with serious Gamers.
MX518 doesnt have skipping and its cheaper also.

So MX518 is still the best Logitech Gaming mouse.

Neither does mine. I am a DOD league player gernade/sniper specialist never skips. Furthermore I am a part time graphic designer and no issues with skipping. Its actually smoother then any optical mouse I have ever used. They tend to skip more for me.

    EDIT: CHEAP LASER MICE SKIP
