Logitech G500, mousewheel issue? Keeps moving opposite direction?

Using free glide/scroll mode, If I scroll up a bit and remove my finger from the wheel, the wheel actually rolls back after it stops moving up, causing my screen to shift backdown a few notches. Likewise with the other direction, but not as dramatic.

I bought a g500 and returned it 5 minutes later, because I thought the mousewheel was defective (seemed very loose). But the manager let me try another. Same thing, so I bought it.

But when I got home and plugged it in, I noticed the issue. The wheel seems to roll back in the opposite direction once it stops moving in the direction you spun it.

I'm sure they are all a little loose (left and right wise, for side scrolling), but the behavior of the wheel after it stops is odd. I currently have it on the clicky mode, so it doesn't roll backwards after stopping.

Anybody care to try theirs out and let me know before I bug the manager yet again?

Mine does not roll back, but I also stop my scroll with my finger. It’s a free glide/scroll, so I do have to stop it at the point I want. Even if I don’t stop it, it does not move in the opposite direction. If I make fast left and right movements, the wheel will scroll downwards very slowly.

Well...that was one other person. :D

I'm sure there could be more, but I do not have that problem. If I scroll very slow, I can feel that it does have a robotic like tactical feel, which would prevent it from going in the opposite direction.

Robotic? Then you must not be in free scrolling mode. In the clicky mode, the scroll wheel is fine.

Actually I exchanged it, this mouse is just fine. So that issue I was having was a defect.

    That is nice to hear!

If you move up or down really really slow, you can feel something is there while being in free wheel mode. I know I'm in free wheel mode, because it will spin for an hour if I don't stop it. :D
