I'm looking to hook these up to my TV for movie watching purposes.

I can get them to close for nothing with some Buy.com credit, and I've been impressed with Logitech's in the past.

I'm not looking for a high-end system. Would these suffice? Also, as far as wiring is concerned. Would it be a problem getting the rear speakers attached? Will the cords be long enough, or will I be able to extend them?

    hello,

I use my G51 for watching movies, listening music, gaming, etc. and I think it sounds great! although you have to keep in mind that it doesn't sound like those high-end surround sounds systems... I use my G51 as a replacement for my Panasonic SC-HT850, and the only noticable difference to me is the bass..

I use my laptop as a dvd player, so i hook up my G51 to the laptop, and my laptop to the tv.. you also can hook up the G51 directly to the tv with the 'auxillary' connection, but this is ofcourse only stereo sound...

The cables might be a bit of a problem.. The rear speaker cables are a bit short.. I solved this by soldering the appropriate connector to my speaker cables which are hidden in the wall.. In other words, it is easy to extend them, just buy some speaker cable and solder the appropriate connectors on it, and then the problem is solved!

I hope this helped you a bit. My conclusion is that it sounds very good, but not as good as those expensive systems (which is normal when you consider the price). The looks are good, but that depends on taste.. A good thing to buy when you want good surround for low money! (sorry for my bad English, it is not my native language)

So, inferno, you just have the speakers hooked up with the green analog plug and the sound for movies is decent? Are voices muddled, or is it pretty easy to hear conversarion?

the sound is very decend.. with the controller (which is included), you can set the volume for each set of speakers (center (for the conversations), subwoorfer, surround and master), so it shouldn't be a problem to hear the conversations.. The great advantage of the G51 is that there isn't any noticable quality loss in sound when u turn up the volume, no distortions etc... Logitech-quality as it should be!
