I just received my Logitech G7 two days ago after reading numerous reviews praising its quality and function. At first I loved everything about it, but after about an hour of using it it would have intermitten periods (10 seconds or so) where it would not respond at all. This happens every 1-2 minutes and is starting to become really annoying, especially when playing games. The mouse does seem to make some noice if you shake it; almost as if something where loose. Has anybody else experienced this? Should I contact Logitech, or could it be my fault, interference of some sort? Any advice would be great.

The noise it makes when you shake it is the eject button for the battery...

okay, but that doesn't explain why it isn't working...I think it's defective.

Send it back, its just defect. I've only seen it happen to one of mine and I've boughten a few of them. The Logitech G7 is just like EVERY other electronic device, every now and then you get one that doesn't work correctly, but over all they are great mice.

What kind of noise? Is it a loud rattling? If I shake my G7 I only hear a faint noise of a component moving slightly.

Also, check the laser hole. Sometimes when hair or dust gets in there it can affect the responsiveness. I've never seen totally unresponsive though so you may have a defective unit.

Logitech has extremely good customer support. Call them up and they'll send you a new one. Sometimes they'll try to give you a quick fix, but if you persist for a little bit, you'll get a new one. They even upgraded me to expedited shipping for free on my last warranty issue because I was moving and wasn't sure of my new address.
