Thank you, both. Those are interesting reads ... I must've overlooked the NBR member's review.

I haven't used the G700s, but I do own the G500 (which has a very similar shape and button layout) and find it extremely comfy, accurate, and an absolute joy to use. The on-the-fly cursor speed changing is the absolute best.

I switched from a razer to the logitech G500 about 4-5 months ago. Good mouse. Logitech's software has been hit or miss though. When it works, it works great. I have 8 different profiles for 8 different games and it automatically detects which game I am playing and applies the right profile. When it stops working, however, you have to reinstall and start from scratch. Hopefully this new version of their software works better.

Just bought the regular G700. According to several YouTube reviews, the 700s isn't worth the extra $40, unless you're gaming on 2560x1600 resolution and need the extra DPI.

I've got one G700 mouse and it is awesome for general use (when I do play games I don't mess around with KB and mouse options) when used wireless.

However Logitech is still messing around with the gaming software (1 or 2 months ago) and I found the older Setpoint s/w from my G500 worked better for my G700 than the new gaming s/w.

The other thing is that if you do use it wireless, you'll NEED some extra AA rechargeable batteries and a good charger.

Sanyo(Eneloop)/Sony/(and a few others?) make the current best rechargable AA, but the chargers vary.

I wound up with both a 4 battery Sanyo recharger (only works with pairs of batteries (2 or 4) and is very slow (which may or may not be better for the batteries)), and a similar but better/faster Sony recharger at: Amazon.com: Sony BCG34HRE4KN Cycle Energy Quick with Refresh Charger and 4 Pre-Charged 2000 mAh AA Batteries: Electronics

Yeah, good point. I noticed that in most YouTube reviews people were saying the battery only lasts like a day or two and then dies. I went ahead and purchased some 4x Enelope Rechargeable 2500 mAh batteries with a four slot battery charger. So, now I'll have four extra batteries (five total) charged and ready-to-go.
