So I walked into Fry's yesterday and I saw that they had a couple of the new G930s in stock. I thought what the hell I will try them out to see how they sound. They sound just like the G35s if not better. Logitech really did a great job with making sure there was no lag in audio. Everything is there from the high's to the bass. They are not as clear as my pc350s imo but I think they are good on their own. I was happily playing Bad Company 2 this morning when all of the sudden, I crashed to the desktop. This surprised me since it's been a very long time since this had happened. I remembered there was a problem with the G35 where they had a memory leak and would crash with games like Bad Company and COD.

I open my task manager and do I see? My G930.exe is at 145k memory! I went to the logitech forums and even though nobody is reporting this issue for the G930 (it's still too new), there is a long a$$ thread there about the G35 having the same issue and logitech has never released a fix. This really pisses me off especially when you go to the Logitech G930 page and they advertise how great bc2 sounds with their headsets. It's like they just ported the G35 software without fixing any of the bugs. I will probably play around with these for a few more days but if I can't get this problem to go away, I am taking them back. Oh and by the way, the wireless range is great. I have walked downstairs with these on and have not experienced any cracks or pops. Let me know if you guys have any other questions about these.

Just to update on the headphones, I have decided to keep them. The memory leak is still there in BC2 but it has not crashed on me again. I have not played that much this weekend so that may be the reason why. One thing I did want to add was that these work perfectly with my macbook. You can even use the G keys to change songs in itunes or pause a movie. I even got them to work on my PS3 with little effort. I played infamous with these and although it was only 2 channel stereo, it still sounded great! The range on these are awesome too! Logitech stated they are good for 40 feet but I have walked much farther than 40 feet without having them cut out. Overall these are pricey but I think they are worth it for anyone looking for a new set of cans!

Yeah, I have the G35 and mine are perfectly fine. I did just read a thread on logitech support forum that is months old almost a year I think and they have still not supplied a fix to their customers. Quite sad actually. I am a big fan of their peripherals, though.

Hey thetruth, I'm thinking about buying this headset but I'll be spending so much money only if the headphones work with both PC and PS3 (360 would be good to.).
How did you set up connection to PS3? Isn't PS3 USB unable to do an audio output? Please tell me how you've setted it up =P

It was actually pretty easy to set it up with the PS3. All I had to do was run an optical cable + 3.5 mm adapter to the line in port on my Macbook Pro. Then I plugged the G930 USB dongle into the Mac. There is a program called "Line-in" that allows you to route sound from the optical in port to anywhere you want. I played a few games with this in there was no lag and it sounded just as good as using the G930 with my alienware. This setup is nice because there is only one wire but there is a drawback:

The Mac can only accept Dolby 2.0 over the line in port so 5.1 audio is a no go. This means that everything you listen to will only be in stereo. I have not tried it with my 360 but I imagine it should work the same. If someone has a sound card that accepts a 5.1 audio signal over optical, there may be a way to get all 5 channels sent to the G930. I have a creative usb xfi and a Turtle each optical adapter that I use with my M17x but I think both of those are output only.

    Err I don't think I understood it =P I'm a bit confused
I haven't got a macbook, only a PC. So how do I actually set up the connection PC-PS3 in order to listen ps3 videogames in headphones?

This is a very interesting setup, I should be able to switch over from PC to PS3 and vice versa in less time if I want to change.

Well do you know the optical cable that you normally run from the ps3 to a receiver for 5.1 sound? Instead of running that cable to a receiver, I run it to my macbook. The macbook then outputs the sound through the g930. The problem is I do not know of a external sound card that is compatible with windows and has a optical input. There may be some out there but I just don't know which ones they are. Im assuming you are using a laptop right? Another thing you can do is use the ps3 analog line output and run that into your laptop through the line in port. I hope that makes since but if it does not, I will try to take a pic or 2.

    Nope I'm using a tower PC^^
Hmm now I understood it and I like it.
I think something like this should solve the problem:
"Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro II Virtual 5.1 Surround Channels USB Interface Analog & Digital Audio Adapter" for 25 dollars.
(Well this is the only one I found that seems to be ok.)
When I'll buy this headphones for PC I'll grab one of these cheap external sound card to try the setup^^
Thank you very much for your answers, you made me understand it XD

NOOOOO do not buy that turtle beach! I have the same one and it is optical out only. You will not be able to get a optical signal into the computer with this. I checked on newegg and found a cheap one here at Newegg.com - ENCORE ENMAB-8CM 7.1 Channel USB Audio Box that has a optical input. Since you are using a tower, you could probably get a nice PCIe card that has a optical input too.

the soundcard i have in my desktop has an optical input although i havent tried what you guys are talking about but i dont see why it would be a problem. i might even get 5.1 surround from it since the audio card supports dts encoding.

the audio card i have is the X-fi Titanium Fatality Pro.

    Thank you Thetruth!^^
Now I know what to buy in order to make it work with consoles too =P
I have 2 other questions then:
    1) Do you know if logitech is going to make a bundle with g700, g510 and g330?
I'm planning to buy them and a discount for a big buy ( like the other g series one) would be nice.
    2) I don't really think it's possible, but I'll ask anyway:
Is there anyway to directly make the TV compatible with usb headphones?
Like an adaptor to put on TV's jack and make it usb or something like it?
My TV is an old Sony Bravia 40'' KDL-40S4000.

I too want a G700 but I really doubt they will offer a bundle since I don't recall them ever doing that before. They really want to maximize their profit so I just don't see that happening. I have never heard of a tv that outputs audio over USB but that would be kick a$$! I bet somewhere in China there is a product that we don't know about that takes a analog/digital signal and outputs it over USB without a Computer. Sony really needs to get off their butts and output game Audio over USB since we all know the console is more than capable. Maybe we will have to wait for the PS4/Xbox 720...

Yep they did a bundle for g series already, that's why I'm hoping for a new bundle.
And for the g930 I'm convinced... I even prefer to have it connected to the pc and not having to switch the headphones from PC and consoles everytime =P

    That's the old bundle:
    G Series Bundle

    Hi thetruth1983,

I am thinking of getting G930 to use in mac. Just wondering although they are not configurable (because of the lack of software in mac), do the G buttons have any function by default? Can I use the buttons to play/pause, prev/next songs in iTunes in mac?

Also, do the mute button and volume controller in the headset still work in mac?

    Thanks
