I recently got my Logitech G9x from a friendly local seller. Overall, it is a really good mouse and really suits my needs. Here will be my review of the main features of this amazing mouse.
Appearance:
For one thing, I really like the appearance of the mouse. It may be a little plain to others, but it really suits my tastes. I prefer the smaller grip because of its slightly rough, non-slip texture. The larger grip is ok as well but for gaming, I prefer the rough grip.
Size:
The size is perfect imo. It's not that big nor is it too small. Please take note though that I'm only 5'5" so I'm a small guy. My hands aren't that big, but are bigger than most guys my height or slightly taller. The size is also good for a claw grip. I tried the palm grip as well, but it felt nowhere near comfortable as a claw grip. For people with bigger hands, I recommend that you try out the mouse first since you may find it small.
Buttons:
The buttons are nicely built and don't feel loose when you click them. The buttons available are 7 and are completely customizable with the use of the software that came along with the mouse. If you don't feel like using the software, the buttons on the side of the mouse can be used as a back or forward button for the web pages, while the buttons with the plus and minus sign can change the DPI of the mouse to certain values which are factory set.
Scroll wheel:
One thing I really like about the scroll wheel is the ability to change it to gated scrolling and smooth scrolling. Personally, I prefer the gated scrolling since it is best for weapons switching in FPS. The smooth scrolling is best for scrolling through web pages.
Laser:
The various settings of the DPI of the laser is the best feature of this mouse. You can have up to 5 settings for the set DPI of the mouse per profile. As I mentioned earlier, the DPI can be changed via plus and minus buttons found on the mouse. The lights of the mouse indicate both the profile and the current level of the DPI of the mouse which is totally dependent on your settings.
Additional Features:
I love the idea of having changeable weights for the mouse. With the package came four 4g weights and four 7g weights. You can use any combination of the weights and have up to 28g. This is perfect for those who prefer both light and heavier mice. Just change the weights to suit your preference.
I give this mouse a 5 out of 5. It's totally perfect for my needs and is really comfortable to use. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. My opinions however are based on personal preference so it's still up to you to make the final decision. I will upload some pictures later on.

Here are the pics of the mouse. I forgot to mention that you can change the color of the LED lights using the program that came with it.

Excellent review. I used to have the original G9, and it's nothing if not versatile. Did you buy the ID grip? I got one for my old G9 and it was excellent for my large hands and palm-style grip.
-
Yeah, I got short fingers here. It's lame. The original G9 fits my hand just fine.
-
I'm not sure where the ID grip is available. It's not available where I live. Or if it is, it will be quite expensive. -

Nice man.
Does this mouse have the option to push the scroll button left and right? -
Yup. Sorry I forgot to put that in the review. Lol.
-
The ID grip is available on Logitech.com for $20, customizable with any image of your choice, or one of their pre-made designs. I customized mine with the "headshot" logo from Counter-Strike
-
Thanks for the info. I think I'm happy with the smaller grip as it is. I don't need any wider grips since I'm a pretty small guy.

Ok, so what are the main differences between this and the G9?
-
The higher DPI.

It's possible in my opinion. That's my final setting for when I barely have any space to move on.
-
The thing I don't like about this mouse is the shape and weight. The shape is too hard and angular - feels like I'm using a brick. And it's too heavy... even without adding weights too it.
-
It's all about sensitivity settings. You can have as high DPI as you want as long as you adjust your mouse speed settings in Windows or in your game settings to compensate. -
-
Yeah, I used it way more than the other two. As a palm-gripper, the Precision grip was way too claw-oriented, and the other grip was nice, but I generally used that one just for "normal" mouse use.
-
I wish there were more buttons on the G9x. You can put two more buttons underneath the back and forth buttons at least.
I constantly debate having a pinky button. I love having an extra button, but I'm in the minority here. I haven't met another gamer IRL that likes having a pinky button. That just means I gotta get fancy with the macros and Autokey scripts. -
I can't stand pinky buttons, they're just so awkward to press. I tried out a friend's Lachesis once (we swapped for a day, my DeathAdder for his Lachesis), and I couldn't effectively use the two pinky buttons. I prefer my DeathAdder; despite having 4 fewer buttons, the ones that it has are so perfectly placed.

Yeah, the only place i can go to here is CompUSA, Best Buy here has nothing on display. Maybe i should just take a trip tomorrow. When i'm buying i'm buying on amazon so you are right i want to see/feel them in person. -
Really? The Best Buy locations around here usually have at least 2 or 3 gaming mice on display. The one closest to me currently has the Razer DeathAdder and Mamba, and the Logitech MX518 and G9X. Another one across town has the DeathAdder and Lachesis, along with the G9X, MX518 and G5. Micro Center, on the other hand, doesn't have any gaming mice on display, just your regular Microsoft and Logitech office mice.

The funny thing is i go to one of the most profitable Best Buy's, in the state of Florida. It is actually across from the Florida mall and it is ALWAYS packed.
They use to have a sick PC accessories section, but after they remodeled they sort of threw all the PC accessories in the corner. That being said this Best Buy has like 30 laptops on display which is pretty sweet.
When i went they DID have a mamba but it was in the box(The glass case) the N52 was on display but that was all. Maybe i will check back, these retail stores remodel like every week. I'm 100% sure CompUSA will have it. I also have a Sams Club and Costco close i wonder if they would have it?
