Logitech G9x cable replacement

Hi all!

Recently my G9x has been acting up and it seems that the cable have broken.

I opened it up and it seems simple to just exchange it.
The issue is that i can't find a cable that fits. I've checked some disassembly guides for other, cheaper mice and the connector seems to be of type "larger", rather than the smaller that the G9x sports.

What i'm looking for is a mouse that uses the same type of connector as G9 and G9x. Preferably cheap. I was hoping that someone could help me.
I don't have the required knowledge (or tools for that matter) to strip and rewire a cable from another mouse to the smaller G9 connector.

If an adapter is available for changing the connector from the larger type to the smaller type that would also work. Can't seem to find anything.

How old is the mouse? You might be able to get Logitech to just replace it. They're pretty good about that.

 

No dice, i've already opened the mouse and the cable is fubared (because of silly old me).
What boggles the mind is that (what i can find) only G9 and G9x seem to use that kind of connector.

 

Should have called them first. They have replaced 2 of my G9X's due to cable problems.

There are several G9X's on ebay for less than $60. That's where I got my second one.

There are probably similar prices elsewhere. I would suggest buying one instead of repairing. Not sure how reliable a repair would be.

 

I'm bumping this, hoping anyone have worked with any kind of usb mouse that has the same type of connector as the G9x has.

I am not interested in buying another mouse (because the issue will probably arise again, since this seem to be a common problem) and warranty is voided so please refrain from those type of "tips".

 

Most of us aren't in the habit of taking apart our mice and voiding our warranties.

 

This is why you have a warranty, and Logitech's is among the best in the business. More often than not, they will simply send you a brand new mouse and include a pre-paid shipping label for you to send the old one back.

Since you've taken yours apart, we really can't help you.
