The Belkin looks really nice but it doesn't seem like you can carry a lot of stuff beside the laptop... I don't like the shell on the logitech...

That's exactly what I think. The Belkins seems to be nicer and, well "smaller" and more comfortable, but it won't be able to carry many extra things...

And the Kinetik, well, the shell is strange, the design is cool but maybe it's too "big" (on the other hand, you can carry a lot of things, but I am not sure if I will need to carry so many things)

    Any more suggestions?

If you over stuff the belkin just a little bit the top part of the shoulder strap tears. as in between the inner layer and the outer layer

if you a guy i suggest the logitech one. the belkin one looks a bit too feminine for me. i would go for the kinetik since i personally think it looks better. i also like the face theres more room so you can store a mouse and maybe your ac adapter if you need. if you are using this for college you might also have to carry some books

You finally made a thread on it! Awesome. I probably should have made it though since I had the same question.

So far what I'm understanding is that:
    Kinetik - bigger, ugly shell
    Belkin Slim - smaller, unmanly

Can anyone offer any more information or at least a bag that is similar to these two that is better?

I'd opt for the Kinetik since it can store more, and looks pretty good as well.

I like the Kinetik design, for example watching this video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50J0-ZzkF-k ), but looking at this picture http://www.notebookreview.com/assets/26158.jpg it doesn't look so cool :(

EDIT: I have been searching and fonund this backpack "Aspen" from Port Designs:

    http://www.xataka.com/2008/02/07-mochila-aspen-capacidad-y-proteccion-incluso-contra-la-lluvia

It seems to be smaller than the Logitech Kinetik (which is better for me).

What do you think? (Watch the videoreview) Is it really smaller os is the Kinetik the same size? I think that's a pretty good size for me.

I've heard you look like a teenage mutant ninja turtle while wearing the Kinetic. :) But otherwise, I think its the best in terms of safety and storage. I would get it.

Yes, that's one problem... I already have one backpack but I don't like how it looks. I am not sure if I'd like how I look with the Logitech Backpack...

Anyone have it and can post pictures??

    Thanks :)

Between the 2: The Belkin Slim Backpack...even though it is smaller ;) :)

It is just more appealing for me ;) :)

And between the 3? (I added another one at the end of page 1).

Actually, right now I am between the other 2. I think the Belkin may be too small for me.

    What do you think?

I am thinking of getting the Belkin but not sure if I can store the following items

Asus Notebook 15.4 with Foof Sleeve
    Zalman MC2000 Cooler
    Battery & Power Cord
    Cordless Mouse
    3 Spiral notebooks
    Motorola Bluetooth Headset HT820
    Couple of Cds
    Keningston Microsaver Lock

Any suggestion would be helpful if this bag can fit all this or what will be the alternate.

    Thanks

    Ed

Ok, I checked out the link for the 3rd one...It seems nice....If you think the Belkin may be too small...go with the 3rd backpack you listed ;) That's my opinion ;) :)

Thanks. I'll "probably" do that. I think the Kinetik may be too... strange? for me (I mean, it doesn't look like a normal backpack, or at least that's what I think after looking at the pictures, maybe it's better in real life)

Any more opinions? Anyone tried the Kinetik?

    Thanks

I've looked at the Port Designs Aspen backpack, and it looks great. I can't seem to find a place to buy it from though.

According to the review, it can be found in most shopping centres here in Spain. Port Designs is a French company, if you are from USA maybe they don't sell there yet.

I haven't decided yet. As I live in a "special" spanish city, I would have to buy the backpack by Internet, and doing that the Aspen would cost me more than the Kinetik (eventhough I think the Kinetik is... ""better"", or at least it looks more expensive).

The Logitech Kinetik seems to be very good, but that strange look... maybe it looks too weird. I don't want to feel strange while wearing it.

Maybe I should wait until holidays, when I'll visit "real Spain" and I could see and compare these 2 backpacks in a real store.

That might be a good idea...that way you can see them in person, and decide which one you like...better!! ;)

Good luck to you!! ;) :)

I bought the same laptop (Dell XPS M1530) and also figured I should switch from a messenger-style bag to a backpack. I only had the Dell for 3 months, but the backpack I bought I still have and I still love it. It's a Targus Revolution backpack:

    http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=TEB005US

I thought it looked kinda square and lame, and in fact I ended up trying about 6 different Targus backpacks before picking this one. I chose it because of the lockable zipper on the laptop compartment, and the padding, and the awesome organization of the thing. I love it.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, the messenger bad I gave up for this (and still have, incidentally) is the Targus 15.4" BlackTop Messenger. It's black and blue and even though it BARELY fit the Dell, I absolutely never worried about damaging the laptop by banging the bag around. SUPER padded, I think.

    Good luck!

Thanks, I'll try to find it at a local store and take a look at it.

    Any more opinions??

Specially, anyone got the Logitech Kinetik?? I haven't found any pictures beside the official ones. No one bought it? I'd like to see more pictures of it.

Out of the two, I like the Belkin more even thought it has less room for other things, but the Logitech one seems to be very thick even if the backpack is empty, it will just stay the same, it's like a box.

That's exactly why it seems so big. However, if you compare a fully loaded Kinetik Backpack with a fully loaded Samsung backpack, both will have the same dimensions ...

So you think the Logitech Kinetik looks... "Strange"? I mean, would you look strangely at someone wearing that backpack? I want a "discrete" backpack, but I guess the logitech just isn't it :p

i also was looking for a backpack. thought about kinetik, but it really looks like TMNT (teenage mutant ninja turtles :D ), belkin also doesn't look very nice, beacause of it's rectangle shape.

i wanted something simple, and not outstanding, so decided to try Dicota Take.off sport. http://www.dicota.com/start.php?office=62&page=page_productDetails&ds=1341
it's something about ~50$, and it's really worth it.

ok, i just got my belkin slim backback w/ my xps m1530. the fit is not as tight as i expected. One can def fit a decent sized notebook (the paper kind) plus everything else u need, (power brick, pens, ipod). Beside, who carries books to class anyways, i just bum off the person next to me =)
also its really really lightweight, i thought they sent me an empty box at first.

you should totally go with the Belkin.

i ordered mine a few days ago.

it looks like it has amazing protection,
and it doesn't look bad, i actually think
    it looks pretty nice.

no way to that shell lookin' one. haha.

and if you are looking for a bag with
alot of room, might as well get a regular
    backpack.

i've seen alot of these bags, and the belkin
just looks amazing, AND it's safe for the
    laptop.
    That's what's important.

    Hope i helped!

does anyone know what are the dimensions (external and internal) of the Logitech Kinetik ?
    I could not find that
