How's the signal on notebooks that have the USB port where the mouse signal receiver is plugged in on the opposite side than where you hold your mouse?

For example, the M15X has the USB on left side but I will use the mouse on the right side.

I read some reviews and people said they needed to use a cord extension because they had problems.

Really? Even if the receiver is on opposite sides of the laptop?

Wireless mice can definitely work on the other side of the laptop, they don't need to be right beside the receiver, that would make them lot less useful.
My Logitech VX revolution and VX 400 are both usable from 10 feet away. I can barely see the cursor though, so I didn't bother going further.

my VX revo has a lot of trouble just being on the other side of the laptop. Doesn't read so well on occasion.

I think mine might have a bit of a defect as sometimes it does work fine on the other side, but sometimes I have the mouse a bit below the laptop and towards the opposite side and it will stop working here and there. It doesn't really affect me enough to look into if its a defect since I rarely use it not on its receiver side.

Either that or you may be experiencing some interference with other wireless devices nearby.

I have VX Revolution mouse and it works perfectly on either side of my notebook. Since these mice have a range over over 15ft and it uses 2.4ghz which is not a line of sight technology, they should be able to function on either side of your notebook.

I got the MX Rev and my USB receiver is on the opposite side of my mouse. There is no problem what so ever... I even got 2 more friends with the same mouse and no problem at all :)

mine will work on my desktop when plugged into the back of the tower under the desk. I don't see why it wouldn't work a few inches from mouse...

I have a VX nano and i used it when i had my m15x I had no problems at all with the receiver being on the otherside and the VX nano has a "Micro reciever", but i will tell ya this there is a USB port on the right side of the m15x. Only reason why i used the left side for the reciever was because my notebook cooler took the USB slot on the right side of my m15x.

Having the reciever on the opposite side of the notebook makes no difference, it will work just fine. It works on radio frequency, the same kind of stuff like cordless phones, and those things work through walls. It will work fine. And, I highly recommend this mouse, I have 2 of them, and I have nothing but good things to say. Love it, love it, love it.

I just got the MX Revolution. It's an awesome mouse. My mouse works perfectly from the other side of the room.
