Hello, I have been looking at this mouse for a long time now. Now only does it come with a nano receiver, but the battery life is said to last up to 3 years!!!! Does anyone have this? If so, what do you guys think of it?

I got another question, how is the M705 in comparison to the Logitech MX anywhere mouse? Is the trade-offs from the MX worth having a much lower battery life?

It's not like AA batteries are hard to find or are expensive. When they die, just stop by your local hardware store, pharmacy, etc, to pick up a pack of AA's. Even back when wireless mice can last a good two to three months on a set of fresh batteries, that would be way more than enough for me. Now that the mice consume so little power that the batteries can last over a year, I think it is beginning to tread on the grounds of laziness.
Both the Anywhere Mouse MX and the Marathon Mouse M705 have an on/off switch. The Anywhere Mouse MX is the successor to the VX Nano, and the Marathon Mouse M705 is the successor to the VX Revolution. Both are fine mice and have comfortable shapes to whichever taste you like. Both have a ~800dpi laser engine, thumb buttons, the tiny Unified receiver, and the Hyperscroll wheel. The Anywhere Mouse MX has the new Darkfield laser engine that is supposed to track better on glass and various other surfaces.
If you decide to go with the Marathon Mouse M705, I have a brand new one up for sale. I had a few new Anywhere Mouse MX's up for sale on eBay, but they quickly sold out like hotcakes. -
Other than the usage of Darkfield, why does the Anywhere mouse cost more? (although only $10 more in BB). Also, what's your ebay account? I want to see what you have for sell

If you like bigger mouse, yeah get M705. if it's not big enough, get performanceMX.
Anyway, I've just got a wireless keyboard k340 to pair with my anywhereMX ..
now anytime I wanna game or browse the internet on external LCD, I can sit and lay back on my couchthe unifying receiver is nice!

So the verdict is that both are really awesome mouses to begin with. Just a matter of personal preference huh.

some things to help you consider:
- marathon maybe more ergonomic if you are right handed
- I don't know about marathon, but anywhere can only use 1 battery, helps to keep the weight down. of course battery life will be lower -
lol it's soo hard to decide...guys, what about functionality? which one is more precise and better for gaming? They cost pretty much the same lol
edit: I just added a poll to see what everyone's opinions are. -
first poll for Anywhere LOL

jonjonk. The only real difference that I see between the two mice is the shape. Personally, I like the Anywhere Mouse MX shape better since I use my fingertips, whereas the Marathon Mouse M705 would be a good compact mouse for palmers. The Darkfield laser engine only helps track better on transparent and reflective surfaces. Performance wise, it's not that much better than the standard 800dpi laser engine Logitech has been using in all of their notebook mice for the past how many years. Both mice cannot keep up on the same level as competition grade mice like the G500 and G9x. You will get skipping at higher movement speeds. But the choice is really up to you. Pick which mouse is more comfortable for you and ride with it. That is the most important thing for picking out a mouse for general use.

I am in the exact same situation.
My VX Revolution just crapped out on me and Logitech has offered to replace it free of charge with either the M705 or Anywhere MX.
I chose the Anywhere MX because it can track almost anywhere and has a smaller footprint that's easier to carry around.
The only bad thing I've read about the M705 is that the hyperscroll/regular scroll button sticks out a bit too far and may be bothersome for some when scrolling.
I was VERY close to choosing the M705... it mean it's the logical choice right? Successor to the VX Revolution, which has performed flawlessly for me the past 2.5 years. Nearly identical shape, size, etc... but again, the smaller footprint + darkfield won me over.
I'm confident i'll be fine with the shape/size of the Anywhere MX because I also use a V220 and i've had no problems using that mouse for extended periods of time.
And LOL @ blackfield, hahaha.

@yesh
when you get the mouse, be sure to tell me whether or not you like itlol blackfield, I wasn't thinking straight.

I was in a similar situation at one point, but my choice was between the Anywhere MX and the V550. I chose the Anywhere MX and I don't regret it. It's a fantastic mouse that is very well built and very classy. I wrote my opinions (mini-review) of it at the bottom of this page, if that will help any of you guys.

Hands down, best mouse i've ever used.
It's heavier than a normal mouse, which is a good thing for me. Might not be to your liking. If you need it lighter, you can remove one of the two AA batteries and the mouse will still work.
Dedicated on/off switch is a great feature and I love the pouch it comes with. Feels great and is perfect to throw in with my 13" laptop bag when i'm on the go.
Build quality is outstanding. Compared to the VX Revolution and Performance MX, I feel like this has a more solid construction (makes sense because it is smaller) and doesn't feel as fragile in my hand. The clicking action on both mouse buttons is superb, a lot better than the Performance MX.
I do find myself missing the ergonomic form factor of the VX Revolution, but it's quickly overshadowed by the fact that now I own one of the best mice on the planet and I can take it with me anywhere. The smaller size + pouch is ideal for travel. You won't be disappointed with the Anywhere MX. -
I travel a lot and most of the hotels I stay at have glass surfaces for the desks, the Anywhere MX has been awesome not having to worry about having a mouse pad on backup.

I just got the Anywhere mouse. Overall, it's an OK mouse. I didn't really like the placement of the back and foward buttons, and the super scroll wheel gave me a small headache lol (I get motion sickness from the smallest things). Other than those things, It's decent. Since I got it at a discount, I'm not going to complain.
edit: Ok, now I see how the scroll wheel works. You press it down to change how it reacts to scrolling. IT can be changed to either smooth or bumpy. Pretty cool. Also, I really like how the pouch is custom fit. Another thing is that if you are getting this mouse to play FPS games, beware that there is a little lag associated with the mouse's turning movement. I think the suspect is that the nano USB's signal isn't strong enough for fast FPS movements. Anyways, what is the point of hyper scroll? You can just hold down page up and page down for that.

At least that sounds sorta like what Logitech would say. Personally, I just like the smooth, buttery feeling it gives me as I strum the scroll-wheel like a guitar string
(I don't even play the guitar).
