I've had my MX1000 for about 2 years (part of the MX3100 set). When I first got it, a charge would last about a week. Now I'm charging it 2-3 times per week. Obviously I understand with time battery life degrades. I have access to a faulty MX1000 with a virtually unused battery. Has anyone swapped out the battery in their mouse or know of any place with resources on how to do this? The faulty mouse I can destroy in the process, but my good one must live. I would call logitech for a warranty replacement, but they no longer make the 3100 and I don't want their other sets (MX1000 is *the perfect* mouse for me, only set it comes in now is BT and is notoriously laggy).

Sounds to me like a lot more work than its worth, especially considering good mice can be had for less than $30.
You will have to find a way to break the mouse open to replace the battery...Does the underside of the mouse have screws, or is it a sealed assembly? If it's screws, that makes the whole process a lot easier. -
There aren't any visible screws, but I haven't removed the feet pads. And, I am extremely picky about my mice, I'm not replacing it. I can't just buy a new MX1000 and have it work with the same dongle as the keyboard, so swapping out the battery is really my only option. There isn't another mouse on the market which comes close to my beloved MX1000.
