Just ordered my new laptop and need to pick up a mouse for some gaming/web surfing. I mainly play RTS/MMOs but don't really need a mouse with 10+ buttons on them because I don't use that many. The reason for Logitech is they sent me an email for 50% off any one item so I figure this would be a good way to put that coupon to use.

Was thinking about one of these two:

    Logitech - Performance Mouse MX

Logitech - Wireless Gaming Mouse G700

    Any suggestions would be great.

    G700 for me

    G700
+ profiles, macros (onboard memory), dpi switching, more buttons
    - lower battery life

    PerformanceMX
    + darkfield sensor, unifying receiver
    - heavy

Trust me you may think that you won't use all of the buttons the G700 has to offer, but once you have the mouse you will find uses for them in games.

You won't regret it. I was using a normal logitech non gaming wireless mouse (mx620) before, and the difference was staggering. The G700 is very well built and glides very smoothly, and has noticeable more precision than my previous mouse.
