    Hi,

I want to buy a wireless mouse and keyboard for my laptop..i already have a wireless keyboard and because i dont want to use another usb port for another usb receiver i was thinking of buying a bluetooth mouse till i read how they go to sleep every now and again (im also going to be playing games)

now my wireless keyboard is a microsoft one..i read that the logitech nano receiver is a 'unifying' receiver for up to 6 devices..my question is will my microsoft keyboard work with the nano receiver or is the receiver only for logitech products?

    and not all logitech products,
only the ones that marked to used with unifying receiver :)

Edit: it's confirmed that not all bluetooth mice have bad sleep-timeout threshold

Just get a USB hub, and keep your keyboard plugged into that. I'm sure you just use your keyboard at your desk... so when at your desk, plug the hub into your laptop.

still for home use, usb hub 2.0 will serves you good :)
And about Orochi, count me one, I ditched it after I got my hands on a non-freeze mouse lol.. if it's marketed without dual mode, it's a Failed product for sure.
But unfortunately, the only competitor in terms of spec is Roccat Pyra Wireless w/ nano receiver
but the battery life is not so good.

This is right at the brink of being potentially unhelpful, but have you thought about one of these: Wireless Mini Keyboard from Lenovo | GeekAlerts

Has the same size mini-receiver as Logitech's "nano" one, and can be a much more convenient device than a keyboard/mouse combo when it comes to media-center type usage. I bought one a few months ago, and I've been pleasantly surprised at its functionality.

That said, the only real advantage it has over the diNovo mini is that it has a mouse built-in.

the dinovo also has a trackpad built in..i wanted a full size keyboard because it can be a pain to type on these little keyboards..its ok for google searches etc but not for msn..also the trackpad is pretty small making it hard to navigate on a big screen

Ah, my mistake. I was under the impression that the DiNovo was a solely a keyboard. Nevermind the fact that such a device would be entirely illogical :D Brain fart, anyone?

I have the Anywhere Mouse and the K340 keyboard which i'd recommend for you if you want the Unifying Nano receiver. If you've got more cash and would go for better ergonomics, get the K350 which is also compatible with the Unifying Nano receiver.
