I just purchased a brand new Dell 1520 and I decided to get a refurbished v200 Logitech Mouse. Whenever I got it, I did the necessary steps:
1. Installed software
2. Computer automatically installed the mouse and usb drivers.
3. Pressed the reset button on the mouse.
After the last step, I expected to use my mouse. However, it is not working. I don't know if the adaptor is bad, the connection between the mouse and the adaptor is bad, or if it is a Vista issue.
I have emailed the seller twice (ebay transaction) and I have not received a response. I am one step away from reporting them for sending me a defective mouse.
I wanted to check here before I took the extreme measure...obviously the seller isn't going to help me out.

you really didnt need to install software for that mouse. I used to have it a around late 2006. its a pretty decent mouse, worked perfect in Vista. its plug and play, its not like it has mappable buttons or anything.
I would uninstall the software you put on there, and try just plug the receiver in. also, try a different usb port.
It could be that the mouse is just fried. -
1) Insert battery.
2) Thank me later.
Just kidding. aph is right, it is a nice plug and play mouse. Talk with seller about refund or replacement. You don't want to leave a negative comment and then get a negative strike back from them. Just my 2 cents. -
Yeah, I had the original V200 (blue) and it still works perfectly with Vista. My bro ordered the new and improved version (silver) for his 1520 and that works great as well.
It's pretty easy to see that you got hustled...
1. The mouse doesn't work when it's an easy plug n play one.
2. You sent eBay seller twice and you received no answer. -
I think I will try the suggestions listed above. I was able to get their contact information from Ebay. If nothing happens when I call them, then they will be getting a notice from Ebay.

Hopefully you already have yours working. I just got a v200 Logitech mouse with the same issue, thought it was defective and was just about ready to give up and contact the EBay seller.
As a last resort I downloaded the Logitech Setpoint software from Logitech and installed it. A "Connect Utility" is installed with the Setpoint software, and when I ran it, the mouse started working.
Needless to say, I have now removed the Logitech mouse software from both the startup and registry run, just using the default mouse driver in Windows XP. The only "loss in functionality" by using the default mouse driver is that pushing the scrollwheel left and right does not scroll horizontally without the Logitech driver, but I would never use that anyway.
