Is the Logitech V270 Bluetooth Mouse good quality? It's only $30 dollars on tigerdirect.com , but logitech is a good company. Anyone have any other suggestions for Bluetooth mice?

I have it and love it. I don't leave it on all the time, but I have had to change the batteries once since I bought it last August. It has two buttons, a scroll wheel which is clickable. It's an optical mouse; I find it to be sufficient for the tasks I use. It's a bit smaller than a normal mouse, but larger than a notebook mouse. The v270 has a great feel in your hand and a nice weight. I have had zero issues with it pairing with either my e1505 or t60. The mouse runs off of 2 AA batteries. I don't do much gaming, mainly office-type tasks, but when I do game, it works.

If you're looking for a mouse with a zillion buttons or the fastest response time/highest DPI, look elsewhere. If you want a great basic mouse with stupendous battery life, the v270 is the way to go.

If you have other questions, let me know.

I just picked one up from Newegg a week ago and it's definitely a nice bluetooth mouse if you're just taking one around to use from time to time. It feels well-built and is very responsive imo (for bluetooth/wireless anyways). It's also a very nice size for what it is (not to small, not to big). However, don't expect to use it for gaming or something and it also just has the standard 2 mouse buttons and a wheel if you care.

The V270 is a good mouse. I'm using one at the moment although it stays at home when I go travelling since it is not particularly small or light.

I agree with the others. The V270 is a very good bluetooth mouse.

Why isn't it a good gaming mouse? Is it not responsive enough or something? Is it the small number of buttons?

I have mine for over a year now, and it's a great mouse. I use it for FPS gaming with no issues at all. The only grip is the battery life compared to other none bluetooth mice, unless you use rechargable batteries.

The only reason it's not a good gaming mouse is because it's only a 3 button mouse (left click, right click, and scroll wheel). A more appropriate 'gaming' mouse would have at least 5 buttons. This is all based on your own preference of course, I think this mouse is quite excellent, but has a few strange quirks:

If you leave it sitting for more than 5-10 seconds and then move the mouse, it takes a second to 'turn on' and move your mouse cursor. This is a battery saving feature. Hasn't affected my machine gun antics on Day of Defeat though :)

Make sure you use the Logitech Setpoint program that comes with the CD, or on their website. A lot of people (not everyone) experience issues with the mouse unless this program is running. My mouse stops working after about 30 seconds if the program isn't on. If you are using the program, and the mouse is still acting weird, update your bluetooth drivers.

You will notice a huge difference in sensitivity if you are coming from a run-of-the-mill $20 mouse to this (this mouse is 1000 Dpi). The extra sensitivity translates to being able to move the mouse cursor across your desktop by moving the mouse a millimeter. You can turn this down in the windows mouse options, but be aware that unless you are using the logitech setpoint software, changing the sensitivity of the mouse also changes the sensitivity of your trackpad, for some strange reason.

This mouse can run on one OR two AA batteries. 2 AA's will last longer than one though :)

Comes with a great pouch to store the mouse in, and the pouch has room for a spare battery, so you will never be without.

I bought this mouse refurbished from canadacomputers.com for 20 CDN, and boy, it was a steal. I love this mouse, and still have yet to experience the apparently inherent 'bluetooth lag' that some people say bluetooth devices have.

My statement was more about it being wireless which isn't good if you're planning on doing "hardcore" gaming due to its lag (even if it is subtle) and the use of batteries that may decide to die on you.

I have the logitech v270 BT mouse and I like it a lot, but if you want a full size BT mouse, I would recommend the microsoft wireless laser mouse 8000.

It is really an incredible BT mouse. Super smooth and responsive (as good as a wired mouse) and virtually no interference when transferring large files over wifi. One of the best BT mice I've ever used.

I had their older BT mouse and it was POS. Laggy, skippy, and prone to interference. But they really nailed it this time.

I got the 8000 mouse as part of the desktop package with the BT keyboard. The keyboard is really great too, much much better than their old BT keyboard which was laggy and slow.

I've been using the V270 for the past week and it has been working great. After the initial "jerkiness," for a second or two, directly associated with connecting it to a notebook, it tracks smooth and precise.

What color did everyone go with? I went with the silver.

Went with the black colour, though it has a silverish quality to it.
