I'm looking at two notebook mice for my MacBook, the Logitech V270 and the VX Revolution. Right now they're both at about $69 CDN, so price is not a factor right now.

The VX Revolution looks better and seems more comfortable, but it uses USB, and my MacBook unfortunately has only 2 USB ports, so I'd much rather not use USB if I don't have to.

The V270 is Bluetooth, so no USB port or wires needed, but doesn't look as great or feel as great as the VX Revolution.

I don't plan to get the VX Nano. Its too small for my taste.

I want some opinions! What do you think? VX Revolution and take up one USB port, or V270 and be completely USB and wire-free?

    Thanks in advance, guys! :)

    Arrgh.
That was the same question I was thinking a few months ago (March), when I got my new X60. For some reason, I chose the V270 even though the X60 has 3 USB ports. A few weeks later, I felt the VX Revolution in a Staples and was amazed by how comfortable it was. I mean, it felt better than a full-size mouse, and it was a lot more versatile!
    Oops.
I think by all means you should go for the VX. The MacBook has its own optical drive, and cellphone can connect by Bluetooth, so the only thing you'd actually be sticking in there would be storage devices.
    Go for it.

The V470 doesn't seem all that impressive to me (neither does the V270 for that matter). I think the VX Rev is definitely a worthy use of the one of the 2 USB ports.

In terms of comfort, I find it perfect for both desktop use and travel - not too big to carry around, but large enough that it's comfortable for prolonged use and even gaming.

The various functions and buttons on it are great too.

Obviously I can't speak for you, but in general, it's unlikely that you'll be using too many USB ports on the run, and while at your desk, you can just use a USB hub...

Get the revolution. I got my Nano today and love the scroll wheel. V270s are ugly IMO.

If only I could afford a USB hub as well :D, but thanks anyway taelrak! I'm leaning towards the VX Revolution myself.

Thanks for your opinion, thevjm. Yeah, no doubt the V270 looks bland compared to the VX Revolution, but again the V270 has the advantage of Bluetooth, instead of USB by the VX Revolution.

Buy.com has a 10 off coupon if you buy something through google checkout. Free shipping also. It came 5 days after I placed my order too. Tiger direct would probably be cheaper though.

Funny you should ask that, I was just about to post a review on Amazon regarding the V270 and VX Revolution. Definitely go with the VX, much more comfortable. I bought the V270 not as a travel mouse but based entirely that it was bluetooth (no dongle) but its way to small to use daily. I cant use it for more than an hour without my hands getting sore and cramped up. The only thing it has going for it is the bluetooth, the connection is pretty reliable even for gaming. The VX is very comfortable to use, looks great and the new scroll wheel is really convenient. Best mouse Ive used along with the MX510. I just bought the VX for $30 after rebate on Amazon, price is now $36.95 AR.

Logitech V270 for 20 bucks CDN from canadacomputers.com
I vote for the V270 simply because no wires, great on the batteries, and no usb dongle crap. If you got XXL hands then don't get it.

I prefer the MX to the VX. I made the mistake of buying the VX 1st and it was too small for my hands. I gave it away and got a MX and I'm very happy with it.

Hmmm, I think the MX is going to be too big to carry around...but no doubt it is one comfortable mouse (the "thumb scroll" gets in my way though).

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! Looks like I'm going for the VX. Now to raise some cash :D.

I think you made the right choice. Once I felt the VX revolution's scroll-wheel at OfficeMax, I had to have a mouse with that same scroller.
