Looking for buying advice here. Any thoughts on which might be a "better" mouse, and why??

They are both available locally here, with the MS mouse available at Costco (still) for 33 bucks. Logitech available at Staples off the shelf, but only the grey one....I WANT THE ORANGE ONE :) 49 bucks

What's the deal with the "tuned" sticker I've read about on the V400??

Sorry if this topic has been dealt with elsewhere. Not sure where to look for a head to head comparison

    Thanks!!

I'm not familiar with the Logitech v400 (I"ve read about it, never used it) or the MS 6000.

However, I purchased the Logitech v200 from Circuit City two weeks ago, and love it! NO skipping, instant recognition on both of my laptops, software which allows extensive customization...

It also has a dongle, which to some is a negative. However, it works on a unique, proprietary frequency, which supposedly gives the mouse excellent reception, and eliminates skipping. The mouse never turns off, as I've read about the v400 (if you don't use the v400 for ten minutes or so, you need to jiggle it to wake it up before it responds), it's never skipped... it works as well as any wired mouse I've used!

Also, the dongle stores in a slot below the v200, which turns the v200 off and saves battery life. Logitech states that it should get up to one year of battery life! (Software even checks to let you know if batteries are running low!)

Don't know if this is of any interest to you, but thought I'd share my experiences with the v200.

I bought the MS laser mouse 6000 for notebooks a few months ago. I did not like it at all: the scrollwheel blocks from time to time, my leftbutton got stuck sometimes and the extra button on the left if very difficult to reach. I brought it back, got a new one, the scrollwheel was ok this time, but the left button still got stuck. Now I have a Logitech MX610, and I am VERY happy with it.

The early V400's without the tuned stickers had lots of problems. The tuned sticker is the fixed version.

Yes, that sticker that says LASER is the sticker.

    EDIT: The shiny foil-y sticker.
