    Hi Folks

What do you think about the Logitech V450?

    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/GB/EN,CRID=2146,CONTENTID=12004

Does someone who is reading the Forums own it?

I don't like the steep Edge at the Back of the Logitech V400 but the V450 just looks wonderful to me...

    Thanks for your Help!

I bought this mouse about 2 weeks ago for my laptop, and i'm LOVING IT!! It's so comfortable to use, stylish and functional! :)

I especially love the fact that the mini USB reciever fits right into the mouse. I really dont like the designs on other cordless mice with the usb reciever sticking halfway out of the bottom of the mouse because its not flush fitting.

Also, according to Logitech, you wont need to change the batteries for 1 year! Hopefully its true cause i dont wanna have to buy new batteries every month for a tiny mouse.

The size of the mouse is pretty good, actually its perfect for me since i have small and 'dainty' hands...but for guys with big hands it might be a lil problem...

Try buying this mouse at amazon.com, i got it for 29.99. It's a bit pricey (for a notebook mouse), but its worth every penny!! :D

you could also buy rechargeables..more upfront cost but they should last for at least several years if you get good ones

This Mouse Looks great!! I don't know if anyone will be looking at this post, but is amazon the only place to buy it? Does Circuit City or Best Buy have it?

    Thanks

I bought mine at office max. So far it's great. Very comfortable. Not overloaded with buttons I'll never use; mini 2.4ghz usb receiver is great too. A little more than I originally planned on spending, but I like it.

does this mouse have an extra button near your thumb? its because i need to assign it to PASTE.... having my mousewheel click do the COPY function

Also, how does this mouse compare to the microsoft notebook optical 4000 and the laser 6000?

Are there any other alterantives to this? Im not really versed in mouse companies. all i know are logitech and microsoft....

I got a v450 today and it is so much better than my previous v400.
The v400 had poor tracking, an annoying sleep 'feature' and I was never fully happy with it.

However the v450 is the exact opposite, the tracking is excellent and it fits my hand a lot better than the v400 did.

    Highly recommended.

You can scroll the wheel left and right and these movement can be mapped to alternate functions such as copy and paste.

I had this mouse and the left and right scroll buttons are very useful. The only thing I don't like about is that when I clicked on the middle scroll button, it sometimes conflicts with the left scroll button which annoyed me. Other than that, I think its shape is perfect, at least better than the VX revolution that I have now.

Yup, that's one thing I really like.
The shape is much better than the V400 which the VX is also modelled on.

i returned this and bought the VX revolution.

Before the VX revolution came out, i thuoght this was my ideal mouse. It was comfortable especially the side grips.

But good thing id idnt open it. I had a lot of second thoughts, and i did not like how it does not have a thumb button. I actually use the forward/back thumb buttons alot, and i did not find the mouse wheel to be a suitable replacement for that.

There was one mouse from Microsoft (i think the 3000) that i liked but it also did not have forward/back buttons.

    OK, this is really frustrating.
After working fine for a few days, the v450 is having the same drop out problems as the v400. It could working fine and then a second later it's dead. I've checked batteries, disabled wi-fi on laptop in case of interference but nothing I've done will solve the problem.
Will have to call Logitech tomorrow.

I don't think the problem is your mouse but your usb or laptop.

Well, it turned out to be a faulty mouse. Got a replacement from Logitech and it's been working like a dream ever since. The funny thing is that I bought the v450 to replace the v400 that I lost last summer, and I've just found the v400 in a client's office. I originally wasn't happy with the performance of the v400, but it seems to be working fine now as well. Still much prefer the v450. Funny old world.
