I just got a Logitech Laser mouse V450, because I don't game and didn't want to Splurge on a VX Nano and I'm displeased with it.

It was a pain to get it working. It didn't work at all and I had to download and use the connect utility before it showed any signs of life.

After being forced to install Logitech SetPoint in order to be able to use the connect utility, this thing has DEAD SPOTS. If I put the fob into the right-side USB, I can avoid blind spots, but since I'm right handed, I don't want anything sticking out there.

When the mouse enters dead spots, it starts to behave like the battery is dying.

Other than the non-protruding storage compartment for the fob, I have to say my old one was better, because it didn't have any blind spots.

Precision is no worse than the old one.
It has two batteries and it's heavier.

Are dead spots to be expected with 2.4 GHz mice?
