Looks sweet, especially the tiny receiver... but I don't know, I think the VX is just about the perfect size. Smaller? But it does look slick
-
Yeah, I don't know, the VX Revolution seems to be about as small as I'd want a portable mouse to be. I guess the VX Nano is even smaller still, but I wonder how comfortable it would be.
-
that receiver is TINY!
-
God damnit I just bought a VX revolution!
-
I must agree - that receiver is TINY! lol...
I actually may get this... since it is so small. Just leave it plugged in my laptop all the time lol... -
It costs as much as a bluetooth mouse so I dont really see the point. I rather get a bluetooth mouse and use it with the build in bluetooth.
-
I can't speak for the VX Nano, but at least for the VX Revolution, I bought it over a bluetooth mouse because I liked it more; found it to be more comfortable and liked the scrollwheel more.
I do kind of wonder why Logitech won't make a bluetooth version of the VX mice though. -
The VX and MX use AA's to achieve the battery life. The VX Nano uses AAA's. The reason they will not use bluetooth is that battery life I imagine would be killed
-
Was about to buy a Mx5000 combo for the bluetooth mouse.. after reading it on engadget.. this is sooo going to be the mouse thats going to company my m1330 !
-
Lucky /envious

I suspect that building a bluetooth mouse will not achieve the long battery life a mouse with RF will. I bought the VX a little less than a year ago right when it came out and use it on a daily basis (3 - 4 hours) and I'm only on my 3rd battery. What attracts me is even though the receiver is small, this has GOT to be the smallest I have ever seen and thats the selling point. I will most likely jump on it when it hits stores.

Short review here
-
heh ppl wud buy this just for the novelty of having such a tiny receiver
-
Awww. That's so cute. I wonder if the performance is the same as the full version?
-
ill use it just for fun
-
That USB receiver would be perfect in the back of my 1520.

I just don't see the point. Why not just get a BT mouse?
I have the microsoft BT wireless laser mouse 8000 and its fantastic. Just as smooth and responsive as a wired laser mouse.
One of the best mice I've ever used (wired or wireless), and I have used over half a dozen wired and wireless mice.
I mean a lot of people complained about the older BT mice being slow and laggy and rightly so, but these newer ones are much better. -
I think at this point it is preference to a mouse. I haven't seen the equivlant to the vx revolution or nano in a bt mouse. It isn't that they aren't responsive enough, but they lack these features. I would love to have this exact mouse but bt instead, but battery life will reportedly suffer.
I don't think most people are against bt, but their just aren't the same options available. -
Notebook mice don't work for me my hands are way too big. I prefer larger mice. I love my MX Revolution.

i personally haven't found a bluetooth mouse that is acceptable for my standards of responsiveness (in gaming)
for desktop work it is fine, but i want one mouse to take care of all of my needs.
the logitech g7 and these new mx/vx mice use 2.4ghz radio; i don't know if the bluetooth format is just inherently not capable of low latency work, but the 2.4ghz parts work well. -
this one does look nice.. it may well go with my m1330 to
-
BT uses the same 2.4 ghz band...
Like I said, try the msft BT wireless laser mouse 8000. Its as good as a wired mouse.
-
I wish i could get a bt mouse that looked like this and had all these features. I think that this will be perfect, maybe a little small. We'll see.
-
Well, Microsoft makes a presenter mouse that is all bluetooth and even has its own laser pointer built in.

Everyone keeps screaming "use a Bluetooth mouse OMGLOLZ!!!".....
Not everyone has Bluetooth. Bluetooth also eats into the laptop's battery life, so people may be reluctant to use a BT mouse anyways.
Frankly I prefer a USB mouse because I can use it with any computer I want. -
I was looking for a BT mouse, since I'm considering on buying the Sony SZ650 (which unfortunately has only two usb ports!!!). But I couldn't find any model with such a nice design like this VX nano. Most of them aren't as smaller as I want.
I'm definitely thinking of buying it. Do you guys have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance. -
I was going to get BT but jsut couldn't find any I liked. So I just bought a VX Revolution on Amazon for 30 bucks after rebate.
I'm very excited to get it and especially at that price I paid. -
Just ordered mine for 40 at amazon, don't even have to deal with rebates.
-
Isn't bluetooth designed to conserve battery? Why will it eat up more battery?
-
I have a second question: will this mouse work with internal BT? (I know it sounds kinda stupid cause it is a wireless mouse but I'm just currious if by any chance it might work)
-
It will eat up notebook battery because of the card inside i believe. Bluetooth was designed as a better alternative to rf quality wise i believe, not battery life. I have no source here, but i think it's right.
If you are referring to the vx revolution, no. It works through a usb receiver. -
what about vx Nano?
-
VX nano is not a BT mouse, it uses RF just like its cousins, the vx and mx revolution.
-
anyone know if you could use this mouse for gaming? like cs or bf. not like if it will WORK as obviously it will but is it a comfortable mouse to use for these types of games
ps dont say 'buy the g5 or a razer' because I want something a little smaller + cordless for mobility -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
yeah you can use either the logitech g7, or any of these revolution mice.
mx, vx, and vx nano. they use 2.4ghz radio frequency that has plenty of bandwidth for a mouse. -
but is it a comfortable size to game with?
-
should be. I've seen a revolution and I'd like to think it is very comfortable in terms of design. It looks really cool too
-
anyone know the dimensions of it compared to the vx revo or other mice?
-
Is it possible the VX Nano's usb dongle will work with the regular VX?
If not, will logitech start making the tiny usb dongle for the regular VX model?
I like it a lot!
The only thing that concerns me is that it is so small it may be hard to pull out, my DV2500t only has 2 usb ports, so I have a feeling I may need to keep pulling out to make room for other accessories. Unfortunate because I have built-in bluetooth going to waste :/ -
it is extremely unlikely the vx nano's dongle will work with the regular vx mouse, just like my mx's dongle will not work with the vx mouse and vice versa. there is enough plastic on the dongle for you to grip and pull it out, it will not be a problem unless you have hands like the hulk.

Does anyone know if it is necessary to store the USB receiver in the mouse compartment to shut down the mouse - or is there an on/off switch?
-
this is actually a good question. i guess since they're saying that you're supposed to just plug the receiver into your laptop once and forget about it, that there should be an on/off switch. does anyone know the answer to this?
-
Yes I thought that was a really neat trick the VX Revolution had.
-
The one-click switch to free-scrolling topside (as opposed to the switch on the bottom) is the one thing that should have been on the original VX -- and now we have to pay an extra $70 for it
-
Not really an EXTRA $70 for most of us.
