Does anyone know if the VX nano allows the mouse wheel button to be used for panning in CAD applications (or pan/scroll in any application)?

I'm not entirely sure about autocad, but in ProEngineer, I have first hand experience that you cannot use it for that.

I was searching through the forum on Logitech's website, and some people suggest updating setpoint software to version 3.3 or higher, and then setting button 3 to "other" or to "middle button". Another poster suggested that in the Setpoint Software "uncheck - Allow Manual Shifting between modes".

Have you tried any of these suggestions using ProE?
