my vx nano came this morning, here are my initial impressions
not as sturdy as i expected for $51. the l/r buttons are looser than i expected. they click way too easily and wobble up and down without acually clicking it. i feel that it is too fragile to just throw into the case and into my bag. i will try to keep it on top of all my gear (water bottle, ti-83, lotion, power adapter), so i dont crush it.
i have small hands (i'm 5'6) and i still have to use the "fingertip grip," i wanted to be able to palm the mouse and use the flat part of my fingers to press the L/R buttons.
the back/fwd buttons work well, it'll take about a week to get used to.
the nano adapter is great, but i wish it would go in about 10% more, i still see a bit of the silver from the usb from a bird's-eye view. i'd like to see only the red+black part. my sleeve is very tight on the sides. (singpeak 12.1in widescreen sleeve)
notes:
does anyone know what that very small 'nub" is under the search button? it is about 1/4cm in diameter.
i installed setpoint 4.60, over the default, the software lets me: check battery life (says 170days with their new included batteries, est 3.5 months.) the software also let me change the "search button" under the scroll wheel to perform a google search. waht do u guys set that middle button for?

I've had the nano for a few months now... I love it.
Isn't said nub... a light? It should be green when your mouse turns on... probably red when it is low batt.
I don't really use the search button, though I should assign it to something. Probably something like a program switch.
HYPERSCROLL FTW. I love logitech's hyperscroll feature.
I have a MX Rev and a VX Nano. Awesome.
BTW, it's a bit sturdier than you give it credit for.

With my 14 month old Nano, I never saw problem like that with the buttons. And I always thought it was solid and well built. I just put it into it's little bag and dump it in my laptop bag when I take it anywhere (it is normally on my desk at work)
Size is important. I'm 6'2", have large hands and when I first got the Nano it was much to small. Then I bought a MX Revolution and found I just didn't like it (heavy and it just didn't fit). Then I bought a VX Revolution and found it almost perfect (a little small but good otherwise). Now I have the VX Revolution at home for most use and the Nano at work. The Nano doesn't get much use as my laptop is a personal machine and mainly used for music playing at work. But, I find I have adapted to it and like it a lot now.
My ASUS F3Sv has four USB ports - two on the back, one on the right side and one on the front. A little experimenting found the one on the side was the best place for it - there is a little overhand from the case and it doesn't stick out when sliding in to my bag.
I changed it to the "Middle button". The only other problem I have with the Nano is that the wheel doesn't act as a button. I am far to used to using that to open a new tab in Firefox. Though I might try it as "Document Flip" for everything other the Firefox.

I received my VX Nano last thursday and it works perfectly. With the included pouch, i think it's not easy to damage the mouse while it's in the bag.
PS: To change the scroll mode, push it inward and backward. -
If can get used to the size of the notebook mouses this the best from them atm.
I found it solid built.
