Hey guys... slight problem with the VX

So, I bought the Logitech VX Revolution a few months ago and it was going fantastic.. everything as promised. However, recently, I've noticed some wear issues.

The only issue is that the wheel isnt as smooth as it used to be.. like it has two settings (click scroll and smooth scroll) and when i use smooth scroll it does not scroll completely. Like the laptop responds fine to it and all its just that the actual wheel on the mouse rolls and then suddenlty stops. Almost as if the rubber that is on the wheel is making it stop.

Before i was able to do a fast scroll down a page and there'd almost be no end to the scrolling.... but now i do a fast scroll it doesnt scroll even five lines on a page and the wheel slows to stop.

so i was wondering if there was any way of like opening up the mouse and fixing or adjusting the wheel?

    Thanks.

You can either email or call Logitech, and they will take it from there. It should be simple. I haven't dealt with their mouse department, but for their harmony remotes it was a pleasant (as far as warranties go) experience.

First, keep in mind I live in the US so it may differ elsewhere.

I have the same exact mouse. My first mouse couldn't go more than 2-4weeks without needing the battery replaced (I rarely reinserted the receiver into the mouse when not using) and that was with light to moderate usage. Obviously, this shouldn't be the case so I warrantied the item. I called the Warranty Department (check their hours, but its not the best for people who work and can't call out during the weekdays). They need the PID/PNs from the mouse and its receiver. They then notified me that they would ship a replacement out and that I would need to destroy the PID on the mouse and its receiver, I blacked mine out since I didn't want to mix the defective with the replacement and plus its the honest thing to do, and that I could decide what to do from there. Either I throw it away, keep it, or whatever. I ended up keeping it, I don't use it but it can still be used if I'm ever in a bind and need a mouse.

The replacement works great. I'm now on 3+ months and it still has half power, and I never reinsert the receiver into the mouse unless I need to pack my laptop. I even use the mouse more since I'm not worrying about replacing the batteries so often.

Another vote for taking advantage of the warranty. Logitech has outstanding customer service! They've been known to just send out a new replacement without wanting the old one back. Logitech is my favorite peripheral manufacturer.

I've been using Logitech products for years without a problem, it's good to know that if I have one that I'll be well taken care of. :)
