    Hi

I recently ordered a Sony Vaio VGN FW490, and have decided to buy a mouse. Since the PC comes with bluetooth, I assumed that this was the route to go. However, I have not been successful in finding reviews which would answer the following question; Will I be giving up some performance for convenience if i choose a bluetooth mouse such as the logitech V470, compared to the Logitech VX revolution, which is not a bluetooth mouse.
    Thanks.

Bluetooth mice are nice and so is the Vx Revolution. I have the Vx Revolution and used that for about 2 months and then bought my bluetooth mouse to use with my machine's internal bluetooth. The thing I love about the bluetooth mouse is that there is no dongle to worry about or break. Plus with no dongle, you can just shut off the machine and mouse and drop it in your bag without worry about snapping the dongle. The one con to the bluetooth mice is the slight delay if it hasn't been used for a while so that it can reassociate. The delay is small and I don't find it annoying at all. A plus to RF mice like the Vx Revolution is that they can work on any machine. So there are slight pluses and minuses to both, but my recommendation would be to go for a bluetooth mouse if you have internal bluetooth. It is a nice and clean solution, I love it.

I have used both types and own both, so if you have any other questions feel free to ask. :)

My opinion will definitely have to go with the fire snake; bluetooth mice are awesome if u have internal bluetooth, cuz there's no hassle of a dongle and whatnot (esp since my laptop, the Studio XPS 13, even though costing me $2.5k, only has to usb ports ASDLKGHASDLKJFSDLK so i need to conserve as many as possible ^^ ;). Esp since they stick out so much (since you didnt mention the vx nano), its very easy for them to break while ur on the go since you're gonna be keeping it plugged in for a while, one of my greatest fears for non-bluetooth mice =/

I have the mx rev as my desktop mouse, i absolutely love it. But i woudln't get the nano for 2 reasons; no bluetooth as mentioned, and no SmartWi, i.e. it wont automatically switch for you depending on how fast you scroll it, you have to manually change it all the time which i find tedious and annoying.

    I suggest the non-bluetooth mouse!

Thanks. I ordered the V470. The convenience of the built in bluetooth and not having to worry about using a usb port for the dongle were the deciding factors.

You'll definitely like the v470; i have it too; there's only 1 thing that bothers me about it, and that's the fact that it doesnt have dedicated back and forward buttons.
That however can be easily solved by using the logitech software and mapping the side-scrolling buttons on the scrollwheel to make it back and forward, which takes little-to-no time to get used to.

The build quality is really really good; my friends have dropped it at least 20-30 times, and still looks 99% brand new and functions just as it had the first time. Also the battery life is amazing so that's DEFINITELY a plus.

Hi. I'm extremely pleased with the V470. The tiny delay when the mouse hasn't been used doesn't bother me at all. I find it every bit as responsive as other USB devices i've used. And not having the dongle to drag around is great.
