Which one do you prefer more? I actually doubt too many people have seen and felt both.

I actually have the MX Revolution and i Love it. I take it with me to school and use it too. I have used the VX but I never really liked notebook mouses and the MX revolution feels just great. I especially love the scroll wheel.

I have a VX and its pretty good for portability, the usb receiver pops in and out the side so you can't lose it. The scroll wheel is very smooth but also really loose. The scroll can actually move if you do sudden movements with it. It isn't a gaming mouse since as you move it'll pop up the weapon selection but I believe scrolling can be disabled in game. The scroll doesn't affect surfing or anything else, it's actually better for surfing then my stiff G5 scroll since it can get you down the page faster.

The MX is bulkier and more of a desktop mouse. It feels better but the size makes it less portable. If I needed a desktop mouse I would buy a MX but I already have my G5.

I've only felt the MX at the stores so I really can't say to much on a comparison though.

Both are great mice however the MX is rather large and bulky making it unsuitable when a portable device is needed however the automatic fly wheel of the MX is a great feature.

the MX is quite a big mouse sitting those two side by side there is a bit of bulkiness apparent in it compared to the VX

the VX is also a lot lighter but yeah it does lack one feature the MX has as mentioned above

I guess in the end it is all preference...I prefer the MX because of the extra features and because using a small laptop mouse for a while start hurting my hand. Other prefer the VX because it is portable and light.

Both of these mice are slightly bigger than their respective counterparts (i.e. the MX is slightly bigger than normal desktop mice, the VX slightly bigger than normal laptop mice).

I actually find the MX to be a bit too big for my tastes - I don't like to "palm" my mouse usually. The VX is perfect for me, both because of its portability and because of its size.

The MX does have a few more features that some may or may not like:

    1) It comes with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery, whereas the VX uses standard AA batteries (each lasting presumably 120 days).

    2) The MX let's you easily toggle whether you want to change between free scroll and the normal 3-line scroll on the fly, whereas the VX lets you toggle it manually below the mouse. Some find the MX to be hard to get used to, hitting it by accident, while others find it more inconvenient to flip the mouse over and change it, by which time you probably don't even care anymore.

EDIT: Fixed a few mistakes (see DrewN's post below).

The MX also lets you switch between 3 line scroll and free scrolling at will, all you do is depress the wheel button. The VX uses a toggle switch on the bottom, which makes it a pain on the VX, to the point where it doesn't even make sense to use it.

That said I still like the VX better due to the size and the use of regular AA batteries.

I just received a VX Revolution a couple days ago. Here are some high-res photos I took the other night. http://srealm.byethost7.com/pics . I absolutely love it so far.

EDIT: You may have to paste the URL in the address bar for it to load the directory.

It all depends on how you're using your mouse, that will determine which one is the right fit for you. Comparing them is akin to comparing a compact sedan to a full size SUV.

I actually have both. I have the mx as my desktop mouse which I love and the vx for my laptop.

I like the size and contour of the mx, the fact that I don't have to worry about buying a battery for it because it comes with a charger/stand and looks good sitting on it and of course, all the features.
It is not great for traveling since you need to take the stand with you and find yet another outlet to plug in

vx is great for traveling due to its size and weight. one great features is that you can tuck in the dongle inside the mouse and that it uses a AA battery so if ever you're out of power, a standard AA at any conveneince store will do

Just ask yourself how you plan on using it and that should make it easier.
